Hey man I love the channel! Been watching a long time. However, quick tip - if you're going to walk through the woods with an axe, get a head cover for it. I have a big scar to attest the danger of losing balance and falling on the axe head down a slippery incline. Keep up the good work!

@@cheesypies yes. We were headed out to clear an area next to a pond so we could fish alittle easier. Thank goodness I wasn’t alone and I always keep a First aid kit in my backpack I was able to stop the bleeding after I fell on the axe.. If I would have hit an artery I’d be a deadman. No way to get there in time. Always sheath a knife, cover an Axe and keep a first aid kit in your pack. No need to learn the hard way.

Okay I have to say it. YOU have ruined me!! I had never watched a channel like yours before it came across my feed. Now I watch(ed) almost every video you have posted in the last couple of years. I have tried to watch other beaver evicting/culvert clearing videos. I can't get thru them. No educational information, no dissing MA dot, no pointing out where idiots with excavators have been messing things up, or saying hi to our spider friends!!! The standard you set is impossible for other people trying to replicate your magic. I find myself saying to the screen, take the sticks out of the drain, don't stand in that whirl pool you're going to get hurt, those beavers aren't putting roads or water levels in danger, leave that dam alone!! Just want to thank you for your awesome videos and sharing your vast knowledge with those of us ignorant to said knowledge. I look at culverts in a totally different way and find myself thinking of which culverts and drains might need clearing when it rains. Again, thank you for all you do😁

There’s so much moss in New England. I’ve rarely seen it in the Midwest except in my yard under some big sugar maples. I dug it up and am growing more indoors to use later in a landscaping project so I’m jealous to always see so much on your excursions. Great video as usual!

Well, there is always more than one way to see things: [as my friend from BarHarbor Maine calls it] MassaTwoSh1t's neglect -is an endless supply of videos for you. That is why I was attracted to your channel: you have the founding father's mindset; if you see a need, take care of it. Don't whine for someone else to do it, just get in there and get the job done. Because on the other hand, you have those logging roads in Maine, where they use the excavators to clean the clogs and destroy the drain pipe in the process. My thanks for the work you do, and double the work load, but videoing it, and editing that footage to share with us.

2:56 I don’t think that’s a root. I think it’s a larger branch covered with a blanket of roots. Still bad maintenance, but it’s not like a root that size grew bark. Thin bark, but noticeable. Roots that size are whiter on the outside (or orange if palm). That looked like a thick oak, poplar, or sycamore branch (maybe fir), but I don’t remember my barks from 20+ years ago well enough to say which, especially without feeling it.

Great job getting that to flow nice. Just a tip with the axe, once you cut through a root or bunch of smaller ones, flip it around and use the pick on the back to carefully pull them up or out of the way. Way safer and more effective than trying to use the cutting face of the axe. Stay safe and warm!

The sad part is a lot of that garbage has blown out of the garbage trucks. Follow one down the highway and just watch the windstorm of garbage blow out of them. Like all these people complaining about plastic in the ocean the vast majority of that isn't from people littering it is from governments dumping it there.

Here in the UK rhododendrons that were once part of planting schemes in large gardens have escaped into native woodlands and are causing a nuisance.
