Yeah. Thralls really arent a must have. Just recently when i made a playthrough with my buddies they finally learned it. First they went with the usual skelos armor plus meta thrall and equip. But who would ve known it, they got bored from standing in the back and watching the thrall do the job. After they reskilled and went in themselves, the fun was back for them. And thats what also makes Conan fun for me. The fighting. The diferent weapons. Getting better with timing your attacks, dodges or blocks. Thats what keeps me engaged. When i use them i only use thralls as a dumb tool for distraction. But id never ever use my precious skills or equip to buff them. PS: I hate Rockslide purges...

A strat for Thag: the blue goop he vomits on to the floor damages the skeletons. You can kite the skeletons back and forth over it and it'll kill them. It's faster and less risky than using your weapon if you're not geared/leveled.

rockslide is definitely the hardest boss in the whole game, someone on my pve-c server that I played on like a year ago put up a bounty on a solo rockslide kill and nobody could do it for weeks until I managed to kind of cheese it with katana special spam and a lot of potions. that aoe attack is so disgustung.

The only real challenge is dealing with the terrible coding: The janky and stiff combat. Online makes it worse (latency). Combat is basically going in circles around the enemy and a good timed roll normal evades hits. Of course the only challenge most (seemingly) want these days is their HP only hitting 70%. It helps huge to have a weapon with a good engage to lunge forward (just like Cero is doing clearly). On screen it can look like you hit first, but the NPC's have the attack actually going out (I dunno, bad animations?). So a weapon that can land a hit quickly with a decent gap between you and the NPC is a world of difference. Combine that with a shield and that is why basically sword and board has ruled this game and they do have aoe hits. Without the perk reducing damage to a max of 25% max HP this would have been painful. This basically worked probably the same as high HP and armor, aside from smaller hits/dots. While neat to prove it more proves how poor the game actually is (yet people will still praise it as amazing, i guess). The perks, corruption, attributes, stamina mechanics, armor ... everything: is just really poor balancing. They would have to fix the game before fixing the combat tho. What do i know tho, because you certainly can't beat it naked... right? (no, never needed this video to know). How will Dune turn out?, we already know.

I remember a time when Funcom forgot what the first half of their name means and decided to get rid of crowd control, nerf the dodge to the point of being useless (worse than DS2), and made a bad stamina system even worse. The only viable "strategy" back then was to get the best gear and trade blows by abusing the hyper armor from heavy attacks, since most enemies couldnt be staggered and the dodge wasted a lot of stamina just to end up getting hit anyway. Dont know how long it took them to realize the error of their ways (the changes made me quit), but im glad to see skillful play is viable again; although, sadly there are still a lot of players who play like if they were stuck in those bad times; heavily relying on the best gear and thralls the game has to offer, instead of trying the git gud method.

(full corrupted strength / vit with max encumberance because arrows weigh a ton, kamakazi because the final perks for corrupted strength and vitality can hurt you if you use archery with no mobs next to you, which has potential to oneshot the player if both go off at the same time)

Not to say that it has to be 2 hours but the game is not worth the same level of effort rn.
