You Da Man! Amazing! So simple. 2001 Honda Accord EX 4 Dr 2.3L. Exactly like you did and it cleared the "Engine Light" immediately. I got the light when I removed the center bezel along with the radio, climate control and clock. I somehow blew the fuse for the instrument panel. ??????... This has helped me on several occasions and trips to the e-check. The 2001 honda is known for throwing evap codes for no reason and not much you can do to fix it. I've spent thousands keeping my car running great though it's been on for 3 years, have pulled this fuse every time with success and passed e-check. Thanks for the help!

I have an 2006 accord. Same problem with the evap code for loose gas cap. Usually the light only turns on if it the evap warning stays on for a couple days and then turns off after a few startings after the odometer warning goes away. Mine in sticking on now. Hopefully this will fix it.

This video worked for me. The Check Engine Light gone after I pulled out the switch and put back in. Thanks Michael for giving exact details in the video. On my 2002 Honda Accord Fuse Panel, the switch number is #13 (7.5 A Clock Back Up).

Helpful video. For my 2004 Accord pulling fuses did not work, but disconnecting battery did. This cleared the engine light, which comes on when oil gets 1.2 quarts low.

For my 2005 Accord, I only unplugged the positive cable on the battery. It resetted the engine light w/o erasing radio stations or having to re-enter radio code😮

I'm gonna try it. I hope it works! If not, I will have to go pay a mechanic $157 to do a 1 hour diagnostic, THEN pay him to FIX whatever "problem" he thinks needs fixed. All in all it will cost me at least $600-$1000, probably more, to go to a mechanic who already knows how to easily get that dang light to go away. Crooks! I'm telling ya! I just need to smog the car so I can register it for another two years. Oh, PLEASE let this work!

U can just unplug the positive battery cable, that'll preserve ur radio settings and reset ur engine light!

Anthony Blythers I've had to do this several times, you may need to do it more than once. Just make sure you drive it a bit before getting an e-check, mine usually comes back on after driving 100 miles.

Offten after making a repair on a car with a check engine light it will continue to be on untill the ecm is cleared. As in your case disconnecting the battery. It is ok to do it this way, but you may loose your radio presets and if the radio has a antitheft device you will have to enter the code also.

My 97 accord CE light only comes on when I hit a big pothole. Honda resets it and all is ok for even a year or more unless I hit another pothole. Might something be loose or what? Honda checked and can't find a loose connection. I'll do the fuse pull and see if that will keep me from having the Honda guys do it and waste their time.

I have a 2001 honda accord and I am getting the EGR valve code which it has been cleaned an all but still comes back. Apparently this is a problem with the hondas. I just need to clear it to get my emissions test. Will this reset it for that long enough to get the test?

I know you asked the guy in the video, but I can try helping you out on your question I think. Yes, you are correct that the CEL is an issue in these Honda cars especially the older ones. The CEL could mean so many different things. Make sure to have a mechanic check the fuel injectors as those should be cleaned too and not to mention checking your ECM and/or PCM. If anything is wrong with your PCM or ECM, it can trigger a FALSE CEL. Have you had your catalytic converter checked out? That's another reason your CEL could be coming back on as well.
