Dear cleartonestrings. Where is logic? Drop D 11-56 So 56 is tuned in D. Drop C 13-70 5th string is 56 and tuned to G??? anyone can imagine how much tension. So yours 56 you tune in D for 11-56 and Yours 56 you tune in G for Drop C Also, for what scale do you recommend this? 25.5 or 27.5 or 24? How can you call strings "For drop C" if everyone have different scales? At least mark it on your page. If you tune 56 in D your neck can suffer and never go back to normal.

Yea I definitely felt the same way. I can't see how 11-56 would be good for drop D. That's an awful lot of tension, but some people like that. I use their 11-56 set on a 24.75 scale for Drop C and it fits pretty perfectly for that. You could always throw a 58 on top if you want extra tension for your low bass string for galloping, etc.

I'm assuming they recommend those tunings for certain 24.75" (Gibson-style) scale guitars, as they require more tension because of their shorter scale. Like Fluff here uses the Drop D set for drop C tuning on most of his guitars, but uses a 60 gauge low E for some of his Les Pauls that require more tension there. So I say: ignore the tuning names, go by the numbers. Life will be much easier that way.

that's what I use to use. I use to use not even slinkies for drop C, but I do a lot of hammer on and off in my riff work and let it ring, so the higher tension allows me to play off of the original vibration. Wondering if I can do it with the 14-80 set in drop E on my 27 scale baritone. Been wanting to journey lower than drop A for a couple years.

buymeamic 11-56 is too heavy for drop d i think the packet made a mistake it probably meant d standard i tried that set in drop d and the tension was too much for the 5 strings so i tuned the 5 strings down a whole step and it was a lot better and in the drop c set i never tried it but i found out what gauge it was and a 56 is far to heavy for g but i think they made a mistake on that set too i think it meant c standard the the 56 would only be tuned to f not g

Never tried this brand or 11-56 but have used 10-56 which does help with tension. I do have a cool pack of ghs nickel rockers 11-50s haven't used yet but heard great things about them plus these are the choice of brand Stevie ray vaughan used all the time but in a 13 gauge.

Knew this was Fluff. You could recognize that beard anywhere, if you know what you're looking at.
