Hannah has done around 50 hours of driving lessons with another driving instructor. She booked a mock test with me to see if she will be ready for her driving test which is booked for around august.
This was her first time driving with me in my car.
Hannah did a little drive in my car to get familiar with the controls.
She has only ever driven close to home in a vauxhall Corsa, so today was a different experience for her.
She does make a few silly mistakes but with this mock test she will be able to rectify her mistakes very easily.
Thank you all for your continued support

i do feel for her, this was an awful mock, but luckily she can learn from it and has lots of months before her actual test to correct the mistakes. It seemed like they were repeated issues mostly, either from nerves or just lacking in those areas, so she should try to focus on those in the upcoming months and hopefully will improve by her test date. Also, I applaud how calm you stay throughout these tests and how well you go through points at the end of the test, lots of instructors would be snappy or rude especially after a test like this but you didn't, which is really kind and nice to see!

I've been driving now for approx 20 years. I love watching these videos. All these learners are under so much pressure nowadays. I love how calm you stay even in the worst situations. When I took my test, it was in a very rural area, with hardly any town driving, no big roundabouts, dual carriage ways or big junctions; and I was a nervous wreck on test day, so I can only imagine what it's like for these youngsters.

I'd be interested to know if she grew up with her parents driving. I had a ton of lessons, definitely at least 50 hours, and as someone who had barely been in a car growing up into adulthood I feel like it definitely set me back a lot. Mostly just due to never experiencing someone else driving a car frequently, plus there is no chance to drive outside of lessons. I passed my test last week, so she will get there!! Just takes time and persistence.

@bearheartKhan 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I think getting the hangs of things quickly comes from driving outside of lessons. Hence when people say they passed only with 20 hours of lessons in actuality it means around 70-100 hours since a lot of them have had practice outside of intructor led lessons that usually are stretched to 3 hours or so per session. A lot stigma comes from taking 50-60 hours to get to test ready stage when it should be percieved as average or even quite quick, regardless everyone gets there eventually.

I'm in the same position. my fam's never had a car nor a driver so nil road experience. Heck even the country's new to me. so i can understand. But with around 50 hours in, I think I'm ready. I got a test coming up soon, we'll see if I pass. I already tried a test and failed only because i did a smooth emergency break rather than a hard press, but the entire hour was good. hopefully i pass this one.

Most of the people in the comments think they're professional track drivers, so no need to worry about those, she is doing well just needs to work on those few things, especially that 1 dangerous fault she got, looks like she completely lost control and sped up very fast towards that blue mini, she will do great.

Some people can drive and some take longer. Think Hannah needs is an empty car park and drive through the gears, parking in bays etc, my point is, the carpark is a safer place with near no pressure. The instructor teaches her move off safety moves etc. When she is ready, then go on public roads. Too soon to be on the roads I feel. Keep at it, Hannah, you will get there.

Hey after this mock test we did do an hours drive and went over everything and she was much better She does know what she’s doing, but wasn’t braking enough before stopping (to park on the side or a traffic light) so that’s as making things harder for her The gears issue is she’s used to her instructors car and changing gears quick, which would have been fine on flat surface 😫 But it was the combination of faults that had a knock on affect with her drive. Also yes everyone does learn at a different rate :)

It seems that this learner isn’t familiar with this area. Most of her mistakes are due to lack of awareness/planning. I passed in March but still make loads of mistakes. I try my best to stick to the DVSA test standard of safe driving but sitting with experienced drivers can pressure you into breaking rules and being unsafe. Always remember, drive safely! And how you were taught by your instructor/examiner. Hence, why i still watch these videos. Thank you for sharing your mocks and thanks to the learners who volunteer to be in them.

Maaaaate, I feel the need to give the instructor a bloody hug. That was an eventful mock test if I say so myself. With any learner drivers out there, I always say that it's good to mix about with driving instructors so you have a feel of where your weak and pro points are. I feel some instructors exploit learner drivers for the quick buck without really educating or helping the learner drivers to get out of bad habits which can always be taught. Tunnel vision seems to be a big problem with most learner drivers, I had it myself when I was learning. Hopefully, Clearview Driving can help Hannah out. How's your car by the way?

Sometimes when doing your first mock test. Nerves can kick in. This shows by how unnecessarily quickly Hana wants to do what's asked of her. Resulting in turning a bit early, going through humps at high speed, pulling up quickly and hitting kerb. Rushed driving throughout. You'll do well next time. All the best.

First of all, you're a great driving instructor 😊 Second, there are some major problems when she doesn't even realize if the car is on or off after 50 hrs. It's fine. I drive 3 different car's. I stalled 2x last lesson also my 18th Lesson lol. I was hungry and stressing about other things. Both my driving instructors said it happens to everybody, even them. The only person I know who never stalls is my dad who has been driving for 71 year's but also over revs the car, takes off in 2nd gear & ruins every gear box he has lmaooo. 18 hours really isn't alot and if the best drivers stall every now and then we can cut ourselves some slack. Good luck!

It's fine mate I still stall sometimes and I've passed my test. Just release the clutch slower, even slower on hills with more accelerator. I stalled on a hill right at end of my test but put my foot immediately on foot brake and put handbrake up straight after, no roll back so it only went as a minor. I was in 2nd gear without realising hence why I stalled. Just keep cool and take a deep breath.
@jackie9090
@jackie9090 2 жыл бұрын
Can you try a different instructor? Remember people stall at 40 hours, or even after they have passed and driven for a while. Accidents happen, its how you react, that is more important. i'm on about the same hours as you and my last lesson i stalled twice but i stayed calm and got it going straight away so it wasn't an issue, at the start i would panic and it would mean my stall has caused more issues. Just stay calm, make sure its in the right gear and get going moving the clutch slowly! You will pass eventually x

At least for the first time. Also I am very surprised, that it isn`t a minor fault when you wait behind some parked cars or other obstacles to let other drive first, that you don`t have to put the signals on. I don`t know why, but here in Germany if you never turn on your signals while you let other go first, it will be a minor fault at least. If not serious fault if you never use it in these occasions. But anyways. If I would live in the uk and I need to do my license, damn you`ll be the perfect driver instructor! So nice and chill. I really love how you are in these mock tests! I hope she passed her test, she was doing good at the start but then after few mistakes, that is what knocked the confidence off, then the nervousness comes and made everything worse. When you are nervous and under pressure, you'll start losing focus and that what make you do silly mistakes. Also the parts when she tried to changing into second gear, that probably because she may used to drive a car with higher torque (or something like that), so less likely she stall when changing gear uphill. You gotta have a lot of guts doing these kind of mock test, knowing that your face will be uploaded on KZbin and you'll be judged by ""experts"". Channels like this unfortunately the comment section are full of d**k heads that never stepped outside from their mom's basement to even drive a car. You see c**ts here claiming that she shouldn't be on the road after 50h lessons, The hours of lessons doesn't determine the skill of a driver. A driver that for example pass first time after few lesson has more chances to be involved in an accident, compared to someone that passed after 2 or 3 attempts. A person that passed after more than 2 fails or had plenty of lessons, have more perspection of the hazards and he/she will tend to drive more safely after getting the license. In this case I can see that the main problem was the nervousness, and she needed to work on that. I hope she didn't read the comments or didn't take these idiots seriously, more than 90% of the drivers in UK drive like s**t and have no clue despite having their license. And in the comment section suddenly there are the 10% of the elites that even drive better than the driving instructors

50 hrs seems alot for a young person. In the UK it goes on competency so not set amount of hours. Some people only need 10 hrs and some people might need 70 hrs. Its a skill that people grasp at different points. They do say on average the hours are your age plus 2 hrs so if you are 20 year old then 22 hours should be about right. Driving lessons vary some instructors do 1 hrs lessons some do 2 hrs. I have had both and found 2 hrs to be alot better you learn alot more

@@babyboyz100 I had like 2 hours in one lesson that were 45 min each so 1 hour and half. But tbh now that I am driving on my own I learned more than any of the lesson so. If you finish yout driving exam it doesnt mean youre good. You are learning every day.

Should she not get some faults if she's constantly looking down to see what gear she is in? She's taking her eyes off the road when she does it. Pretty serious error.

hi, just wondering at 15:39, if you were the car behind you and you waited in the bus lane would that class as a fail? i assume it would but then the bus wouldn’t be able to get in there either way as it would either be half in or fully behind you.

It's hard, especially for learners since you got to understand how to stay on the road while learning to control the clutch and gears. Roundabauts are the worst because of this

(Sorry if this comment is repeated elsewhere, I’m hoping to get a reply ASAP) I’m a bit confused with the gears in your car. Does 3rd gear take you all the way to 30mph? I noticed your learner (and probably others) use 2nd gear for normal residential areas. I use a VW golf and I use 3rd gear once I hit minimum 15mph and I switch to 4th gear at minimum 25mph. Is that the same for your car?
@12walker92
@12walker92 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely yes, thing is learner drivers tend (to be encouraged) to use a lower gear than necessary to have better control and to reduce to -1 the gear shifting. I don't have an issue with this to the extent that it's better to sacrifice fuel economy and comfort than safety and control, but after passing their test many drivers keep driving like that and it can get horrendous xD

3:39 how is this not a (minor) fault? the only thing i can think of to do wrong without getting a fault is to go the wrong way (like missing your or taking the wrong exit on a motorway), as long as you do it safely.

@jackie9090
@jackie9090 2 жыл бұрын
it says a little wide, there is a certain distance you're allowed to park within (12 inches). So i would assume it was towards the wider side but not over the safe distance. Instead of a minor if in the safe distance its just a comment to go closer if possible in the future
