I'm the same as well, its better than being careless though.
@scottw.325811 ай бұрын
@@colinjava8447 Yes and no. When you're as cautious as this lassie then it's a bad thing, you can cause accidents being this cautious just as you'll cause accidents by being careless. You need to be aggressively cautious as a driver. Drive as though everyone else on the road is a complete idiot and capable of doing absolutely anything, so be prepared for anything, you need to be ready to get yourself out of any potentially dangerous situation, if that means putting the foot down, then you put the foot down, if it means hanging back, then hang back. This is where pre planning and awareness come in. Sometimes it can be obvious that something up ahead or behind is going to cause a problem, so decide on what you're going to do about it, and commit to it.
@KoeiNL9 ай бұрын
Yep, the most important part when driving safely is being clear with your intentions on the road and being confident in know what the expected manoeuvre is. If you hesitate all the time people don't know what you are going to do and that will lead to dangerous situations. For example when merging on a highway in the Netherlands you should use your indicator when there is space and you are actually going to merge. Except, when its busy people tend to indicate even before there is space, just so everyone else knows what your intentions are. Its just much smoother that way, even though its technically not what you should do according to the rules. My daily commute is across one of the busiest bridges in Europe (225-250K vehicles a day) and 90%+ of drivers signal way in advance.

She can drive. One thing I really noticed is how late she uses the clutch and brake at junctions. If she manages her speed early, it would give her more time to plan ahead. Secondly, as everyone said over cautiousness can actually make you less safe as it can be quite confusing to other drivers and prompt those around you to drive more aggressively. Natasha you’re doing okay. However, your gear use is not exactly right. When stopping, you should first brake a little bit before you press your clutch. Pressing the clutch first will not help you with reducing your speed which results in a very hard brake. You can see it happen a few times in this video as you and your instructor move a little towards the front as soon as you step your foot on the brake. It leads to you pressing the brake too hard. Have a bit more confidence and you will succeed in your exam! Good luck, you can do it!!

I've seen some people in these videos steering like this, with both of their hands locked around the 9 - 3 clock position and they turn the wheel little by little. It hardly ever looks efficient. It's always taking them extra time to turn and they have to go extra slow or they will end up having to stop/reverse. Just move your hands around the wheel it's much easier, much faster and you don't need to cut your speed to 3mph every time you need to turn.

I believe (correct me someone if I am wrong), but she stopped on her give way lines, but there was no traffic on her right, so she should have joined the roundabout, as the traffic on her left should then stop and give way on their lines, giving way to their right as she goes round.
