Clearwater River Weekly Steelhead Report 10/14/24: Great week of fishing, but tough weekend

Awesome video! I subscribed! these reports you do it really helps me and a bunch of other anglers so thanks for the time to do it. Hoping to go out there this weekend, specifically tomorrow morning from shore. Are there any baits or spots on the river you’d recommend? I’ve never caught a steelhead and would love to catch one. Thank you!

Was recently on the Clearwater in Orofino. Very bad fishing experience regarding jones fishing. During catch and release season your boat was netting boating and molesting the fish befor letting them go to die. I saw the fish just bell up. Over n over. You should be shit down and out a business man. I will never forget that and always tell everyone I talk to. Yall need to respect the fish not chase a tip

The way I read the regs you can still catch and keep Steelhead downstream from the Lewiston vehicle bridge. Also, at least on a WA license, it appears you can still keep Chinook until the end of the month in (but not below) the confluence and Snake river (unless the app is messed up).

Can keep Chinook below the memorial bridge on an ID license as well (until the end of the month). Just checked.

Seems like the pressure on the fish is pretty much the guides!! The bank guys gotta work there butts off..

Always do my friend. Lots of boats out can make things tough. Bank fishing is tough, but there are dudes that consistently get fish

@@jonessportfishing we definitely get fish pretty consistently. But definitely get boats that like to pull up right were we are fishing since the but crack of dawn and drift right threw were we are bobber fishing.. Makes me furious especially when I have a boat. But prefer bank fishing the Clearwater most the time..

If I see a guide boat coming down where I’m at (in my boat) I will reel in and let them work it through. They are out there to make a living… I’m there just to have fun and catch a fish or two to let go anyway. A guide taught me how to get started and encouraged me to go out on my own - Thanks Gabe! Show the guides some respect…
