Not sure how to comment on the main video. Is there anyway you could have dropped 2" PVC into the old casing, installed air compressor, and giving customer an air lift system? Would have saved him 7-10 thousand dollars vs new well. Just curious....

My grandads farm has a nice well system, only seen the pump replaced one time and there's tons of iron in our water. When they pulled the pipe out it was red with iron oxide. No damage to the pipe since it was pvc or whatever its supposed to be.

We lived in a house once that had a well. The water was bad we had replaced the washer twice and the shower and everything was stained with rust. You never felt cleaned after a shower or drink the water.. We had company come out to do a water test. He filled a glass of that well water. He was so shocked because the bottom of that glass was full of dirt and sediment. He said he never saw anything like that before.

If you can only get 4 gpm, get a bigger storage cistern and just let it run. Unless you are doing a big commercial operation you probably won't be using 4 gpm 24/7.

I’m about to start well drilling down in Panama using a somewhat similar trailer mounted drill rig. I have a question: if you drill down and think you’re in the producing zone and you set your casing and flush out the mud and go to develop the well only to realize there isn’t water, how do you pull the casing back out? Are there special attachments that can be added to a drill rig to help pull casing if you need to get it out to go deeper?
@ClearWaterPumpWell
@ClearWaterPumpWell 2 жыл бұрын
So that's a interesting question but I'll answer it the best I can. So when drilling you probably want to stay shallow at first until you learn the ground conditions. Shooting for making a well and being confident is better than pulling out and starting over. I have helped a guy pull a 250' well casing out that didn't make much water before. But this is all dependent on how developed the well is and if it caves in preventing you from pulling casing. Anything above 100' should be able to be pulled back up easily. You might still break the casing or screen off and loose it all even. Being sure you have a good sand and it's taking water as you drill is usually key. Every area is different so learn the ground, clays and sand to know better if it's good. Good luck, Thanks for the comment and watching, Casey
@nickmarquez2024
@nickmarquez2024 2 жыл бұрын
@@ClearWaterPumpWell thanks for the response. So you can just pull it out by hand if need be? Most of the wells around here are less than 150’ and basically no one uses schedule 40, it’s usually sdr 26 at best so the pipe itself isn’t too heavy. I guess you can just start pulling out and cut halfway between the joints where you would need to add a coupler if you reuse the pipe? Then ream out the gravel pack/bentonite seal and keep drilling?
@ClearWaterPumpWell
@ClearWaterPumpWell 2 жыл бұрын
@@nickmarquez2024 Oh dang pull by hand.... maybe a 40' well. You kind of need the rig to lift out more than that especially if it caves in. SDR Yea some old timers used that stuff but its just too oddball and more likely to crack. Yea I helped Mr Joe drill one and we just went past 150 on to 360' through same hole after pulling casing back out. That video is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpSqfZKkd5eMm7c if you want to see it, the first set was only making about 1 gpm not enough!

You should know how much it's producing before the casing ever goes in. In my opinion trying to salvage used PVC is a lost cause unless you can pull it back up with the machine.

It's called bentonite mud, it's thickens the water to help lift material out of the well. Once he reached the bottom with the heavy gravel he needed it to clear out so that we could set the casing. The thicker the water the heavier the material you can lift out with just water flow.

In my 27 years working with overhead equipment, just once did I get hit in the head with a big washer that fell from the rig. Imagine if I didn't have a helmet on how much worse it could have been. It only takes one time to get hurt bad enough for the rest of your life. Why don't you guys wear helmets? You will regret that you don't one day.

I appreciate the concern, Mr Tim has been drilling for 30 years I'm sure he was required to have them in the gas industry. Yea the replumbing of the pumps pvc and lowering the pressure lasted two weeks not two days like the previous company. So the only solution was to get him going temporary and barely have water till he had a new well drilled! How about take your BS non professional opinion elsewhere!
