I don't know for sure but normally when parodies are done usually the original artist is said to get a kick out of it. Kind of like how Don McLean approved Weird Al to sing "the saga begins" to the tune of his American Pie. Since McGraw's song this guy was parodying was actually a rather depressing song, McGraw may have disliked this parody but usually the original artist has a surprisingly good sense of humor and is said to get a laugh out of it.
