What Cleetus might realize or not is that I at least respect him and enjoy his content because he doesn’t deal with drama and conflict. His stuff is fun to watch and enjoyable Bc there isn’t a bunch of BS in it. That’s something to consider, I look up to cleet Bc of how he is able to handle stuff and just have fun and no drama. I don’t think cleetus will ever see this but this is something I hope he does one day.

@djjazzyjeff1232 Жыл бұрын
He's so transparent too that's what makes it rad. Everyone who has issues just ignores them or shys away but Cleetus puts it all front and center, like here in his episode he would say like real figures of amounts of money. He does that on his channel too, and when his old partners Cooper and Jeremy sort of went away from the channel he was open and straightforward about that too. I think that's worth a lot and part of why his fans help clean up his racetrack when the events are over.

I have since started my own business as a Franchisee and have been struggling and grinding for two years and I've felt so alone. To know that my biggest inspiration, a person I highly regard and look up to, a man that has probably saved my life simply by making fun content that I watch to keep my depression from getting to me, to know that he has gone through worse struggles and overcame them makes me feel so confident that my business will thrive. This was awesome to see, super relateable and so inspiring. Thank you for the awesome show.

I liked this interview up until the point where it was insinuated that in order to grow you have to be controversial. I actively seek to eliminate controversy and drama from my life. I got rid of cable TV a long time ago because it was a constant barrage of fake controversy on reality TV and "news" without any journalistic integrity. I deleted facebook and avoid most social media platforms for the same reason. Controversy is exhausting and I know I'm not alone here. I think Garrett's Cleetus Mcfarland character is successful because it's fun and entertaining, and his content doesn't leave you angry or annoyed after watching his episodes. Cleetus Mcfarland, Stuff Made Here, Smarter Every Day, Cody's lab, etc are all proof that controversy isn't required to to be successful. Continuing growth is a challenge for any business, but generating controversy for the sake of gaining attention isn't the answer.

Cleetus doesn't need controversy to get views, the cars, boat, track, dogs, shops stuff is what we watch for. If your only content is controversy, then you need it to keep the viewers, but it also limits the number of potential viewers. I don't like Whislin and rarely think anything he posts is worth looking at. I don't enjoy the burnout stuff or drifting stuff but I watch everything else and if that stuff is included, I do other stuff while it plays or skip to the stuff I like. I used to watch FasterProms for the tuning info and he changed the channel so I quit watching. It is best to be who you are and let that honesty bring in viewers, because you never have to fake it to keep them. I really appreciate Cleetus asking us what we want and then doing things that the majority like. It gives us a say so when he runs out of his own normal stuff to show. He stays true to his channel but also listens to the viewers. Really enjoyed this video. Peace.

25:00 I'm making that step in 2 weeks after 24yrs in the Military ... Let's Go! I started my Journey watching Roman (remember Dm'ing me a few years back on Twitter?)... and I've been watching Cleetus for a couple of years now. Have massive respect for both of you and the work you put in to making awesome content. And as for Cleetus Vs Hate, the dude's built a community that want to see cars shredding tyres, lighting fires and ripping up drag strips, that's all the 'Drama' you need ;)

Roman great pod cast. Cleetus - Yours is a classic American story… work hard play hard. I really do not think you need to get involved in controversy as with politics or religion on your channel to grow your success. People have had enough of controversy for controversy’s sake. Your viewers will continue to convert as subscribers as evidenced by your ever-expanding reach into your demographic. You are genuine and true to self and that’s your attraction. And you know how to promote as P.T. Barnum famously said "Without promotion, something terrible happens... nothing!"

Absolutely. It seems like some people can grow fast with the BS but for other people and their channels inviting the BS would be equivalent to the artist selling out.

“If people aren’t talking about it you can’t grow”. Hate…. Social Media 101 Cleetus is the exception, he grows without the negativity, his audience is different, and he affects different segments.

This was such an awesome show!! You guys hit the nail right on the head with your parenting attitude. 100% it's sooooo hard to parent today so kudos to ANYONE out there struggling, we're all with you!

Stay drama free Cleetus. It's my favorite thing about the channel. I cant even count the channels I've stopped watching because they turn into drama queens

I agree I think drama for the sake of drama is not cool unless it's authentic.

If you do the demo derby you've gotta get Matt from Matt's Off-road Recovery, Paul from Fab Rats, and Robbie Layton from Robbie Layton nation involved. They all have great KZbin channels, and all have been doing derby for years.

Get all the youtubers together to make an awesome group and start your own version of KZbin and you guys control everything and can all be yourselves. KZbin started small. That one opportunity would cement you guys as long as you wanted to do it. I guarantee that everyone would jump ship from KZbin just for less censorship. You guys are awesome!

Absolutely the best conversation covering so many real topics. The concerns as a student, family opinion, risk, fear, the gambles, the gauntlet game. Cleetus driving long way to get to a Law class where they showed a movie! They should make this interview required-viewing for all kids leaving high school. Psychology, fear, being/becoming a new parent--what a great conversation!

Definitely interested in the demolition derby idea!! Gotta have Fab Rats, Robby Layton and Matt's Offroad Recovery there. They are pro's at the demolition derby world

I have respect for all your convictions and understanding you have employees that rely on your success! Balancing the moral internal fight about how to not say too much to piss off fans / peoples political beliefs & keeping food on the table for your company must be daunting. However, I believe balance and understanding have got you all this far! Along with a LOT OF HARD WORK! Kudos people on you successes that bring joy to so many. Keep up the good work :)
