I think carriers should have the power to autodestroy itself, honoring Tassadar, and collapse into ground and deal damage on a certain radius, higher dmg near the center and less on the edges

strong? Well I'd argue it's weak. You have to keep expanding and because you're not zerg your workers are even more valuable and you are put under more stress defending them. Need i mention the Nexus takes longer and more minerals? Yeah... That seems like a disadvantage

It seems there's a rivalry between MaxPax and ShoWTimE on ladder who's Europe's Best Protoss. Currently ShoWTimE's MMR is higher than MaxPax's but they often swap spots with each other while Clem consistently remains Europe's Best Terran on ladder.

Max Pax is my favourite protoss player. I love how he seamlessly takes care of every unit, managing consistent zero unit losses for the first 7 minutes or so of the match. No stalker shall die in vain!

Why is it that both Terran and Zerg can both max just one unit to counter the carrier... maybe protoss just need to make a few phoenix to back the carriers up? I really don't think tempests are the answer because of how slowly they shoot, but maybe slow and steady is the way when dealing with a cloud of corrupters or vikings?

skytoss just isn't a viable composition against terran corruptors can pretty reliably be stormed and tempests are ok at zoning them too, vikangs and stim bio is just too much AA and too able to jump on top of HTs

Sorry, but the answers to your questions are Never, and never. The team that made this game has been dissolved for years. Most of the top designers on this game are working on Stormgate or Zerospace, which are the likeliest SC2 successors. There are some good RTS on console though!

Best unit on Toss side, haven’t you watch the last vid? Just make 5 robot gates and ask your opponent to afk for 10 minutes and mass a bunch of superior robo gate and win. B… but who will shoot the medivacs and Vikings that keep flying in and out of our base? Just build more turrets idiots. Where is the money? Idk, just mine more or hide the strategy from them or something. But… scan? What scan? My opponents never scan me guys.

I don't think I've ever seen carriers actually work in late game PvT at this sort of level unless Protoss was in a completely crushing position before they even started the production and could have won with practically anything. When things are reasonably even and the Terran can respond, they just never seem to work out. Lately, the only things that seem to be winning in PvT are 4 gate blink and the occasional win with Phoenix Colossus after Terran overextends and loses everything, but Phoenix colossus doesn't seem to be particularly good at attacking if the Terran decides to not commit.

It happens if the terran is bad. I've lost lategame diamond TvP to carriers when I had 3/3 Vikings and liberators because Storm is so powerful against them. But if I went bc/Yamato I probably would have been fine. It was this same awful map too which I've since veto'd. But yeah I EMP'd and the Vikings waste too much damage on overkill. You can't a-move them, but having 40 Vikings one shot a carrier is worse than having 12 do it and splitting them to take out 3 carriers at once. Just wasn't right. I tried mass liberators too. This worked great against carrier interceptors, but by then he had added in voidray and split them. It was a stupid game, I was on 9 bases he was on 6, I lost because of unit composition and such.

The widow mine "buff" is irrelevant. Faster UNburrow rarely means anything. The new cyclone sucks. Makes terran very susceptible to proxy tempest and such.

My pet peeve is watching these guys retreat from fights and their ENTIRE force gets wiped out, and yet they never have those units turn and actually fight to the death. Max repeatedly in that last game pulled away from fights, and multiple times lost every single unit. If they're going to die anyway, why not have them turn back and engage?? Either way they're dead. Soooo....how does it make sense to have them all lost without even trying to deal more damage to the attacker?

Carrier interceptors still fight when the Carrier pulls back, that's the only smart way to use them. Same with Stalkers they attack and then should be blinked back.

@hivetech4903 No no, I mean I understand that in certain circumstances, you obviously would rather have half your army survive even if it meant sacrificing the rest. But especially in that last match, there were 2 times when Maxpax had a large ball of units, started to retreat, and then watched Clem stim his M&M's, and literally kill off every single unit in Max's ball. And yet, Max never stopped to let them engage. There's no way stalkers and colossi are going to outrun stimmed marines and marauders with dropship support. So those units were already dead. At that point, having his army fight to the death makes more sense. Because the end result of running was: they all died, dealing 0 additional damage. Turning to engage means: they still all die, but maybe you take out a handful more marines, or a couple marauders. It's always better to deal SOME damage rather than none. So if you already know a group of units are going to fall no matter what, I can't understand letting them die for free rather than at least take a few more enemy units with them.
