Beautiful Clematis. I watched the video to find out if Clematis need fertilizer, what kind and when to fertilize. I don't believe it was mentioned. Perhaps someone reading this comment can answer it for me. I'm concerned about it because I watched another video that stated that Clematis do not need, nor do they like fertilizer.... to the point it will keep them from blooming. So, what's the right answer?

Thanks for your sharing! I have one from 4” tall after 35 days and bloom one small flower now! I still don’t move to backyard! I am in Globe Arizona cooler than Phoenix! Winter has a little bit snow or 1 inches snow and next day melted snow! You think I can grow background now or wait September! Which facing-South or East facing? Thanks again 8/29/24

My clematis bloomed (like crazy) this year But now (May 30) it has lost all blooms. How should i get it to bloom all season (Zone 6a). Thanks for your video.

Hi! Great video! I’m zone 7A northern virginia. I just planted 2 goldflame honeysuckles on both sides of a very large arbor. I was thinking it would be fun to plant some clematis on the inside of the trellis - maybe Jackmanii or sweet summer love? Would really appreciate your thoughts!!

Thanks for the video. We bought the one from Costco. Should we repot immediately, or can we let it be till the end of next winter? The pot we got from Costco is around 8 inches wide.

I’d probably go in the ground this spring with your clematis or unless you are moving and need to wait to plant 😊

Nice looking clematis but unfortunately lots of incorrect information in the video.

Is there? This information was sourced from a book on Gardening In Ohio & Perennials of Ohio.

@@MillerFlowersGreenville Sorry about being critical but I think that so many people find clematis difficult to grow and, in my experience, this is often because they have not been given helpful information. I write and give talks in the UK about growing clematis and have been doing so for many years, I appreciate that growing conditions are different in Ohio to those in the UK but certain factors are the same. For example, it is not correct to say that all clematis like their roots in the shade and their heads in the sun. Some do not like full sun, especially pale flowers that tend to fade more quickly without some shade. Putting small objects like plant pots or even small stones or gravel do little to shield roots and they do provide homes for predators. Underplanting with shallow rooted perennials or annuals is better because birds and small animals can get in to do some pest control. In your video you mention that there are 3 varieties of clematis - there are thousands. The presenter may have just been referring to the different varieties of Jackmanii and made a mistake (which is something I am sometimes guilty of in my videos!). Before making any further videos on clematis you might find it helpful to read Linda Beutler's book ' The Plant Lovers Guide to CLEMATIS'. Linda is knowledgeable and is the Curator of the Rogerson Clematis Collection in Portland Oregon. Feel free to disagree. Ken
