Who wins the difficulty so far?
This is me trying to figure out how much a routine could worth if it was executed perfectly.

Among the Russians, her difficulty maybe not be as high as Dina, Arina or Lala, but her execution is certainly something. Expect (in the worst case for a clean routine) a small kip on her stag leap (0.1), backscale and forward split not always hold for 1 second (0.3 + 0.3) and a hop with travelling usually at the end of her ring pivot (0.3), bent arms of the catch when she's not secure (0.1), her execution doesn't get better than that. If she gains consistency, a little bit of Difficulty and remove those small errors (and turn her head faster than her trunk durnig those fouette!), it's over for everybody!

I think it's a matter of the FIG revising the Code of Points in favor of legitimate, superior gymnastics like this. One way to see it: could gymnast X perform the routine of gymnast Y? (Nevemind the choreography of Karpushenko which is head and shoulders above any other coach; same goes for the Bulgarian Group relative to any other group). It's a travesty that they add up points for nonsense apparatus "difficulty" which is little more than sloppy goofing around with the apparatus (especially for Dina's ball routines, which have been a total mess for the last few years). I am bracing for them to rig the code of points for the next cycle in favor of the sloppy, improvised-looking routines of Lala instead of those of Pobedushkina.

Totally agree! You see a handful of gymnasts with breathtakingly beautiful routines - that truly represent the spirit of rhythmic - but they don't win! And I noticed if you ask fans/gymnasts who their favorite gymnasts/routines are from this quad they rarely say the top gymnasts... (don't get me wrong - they are amazing - but they sacrifice a lot of the "rhythmic" for difficulty points)

Guzenkova on the team is a ridiculous joke. Lala's routines are almost as horrible but at least she has the crazy pointed feet and the 7x penche pivots. Guzenkova is just milking some favoritism from a medal that Barsoukova won when it was a travesty that her and not Tchachina was on the Olympic team.

Her difficulty might not be as high as other gymnasts, but with a clean execution (which she can totally manage to get) she can be on top. They need to let her perform more often on important events so she can actually practice, but I'm afraid that won't happen until the next Olympic cycle

@@ClematisRGVideos Guzenkova would be a total travesty. She is mind-numbingly boring and weak. She looks more like any of the unimpressive Ukranians of recent years, who never managed to put forward an interesting gymnast after Vitrychenko. (Bessonova and Godunko were powerful performers up to 2003 and 2004, respectively, but very little of their choreography was ever interesting).

Sadly Viner seems to be favouring the Anastasias (Simakova and Guzenkova) over Maria and Sergaeva. Most likely because the two train at different schools.

I think she could perfectly level up her body dificulties since she has nice flex and lines, and maybe add some easy 0.3/0.4 ad's that make the averinas /linoy/vlada etc get those high scores. Because regarding handling, cleanliness and elegance she has no match nowadays ♥ (maybe halkina but halkina has much more easy and simple ad's )

Don't the original elements add up to the score? I'd argue that she has WAAAAAY more original elements introduced in clubs and ball (and arguably in hoop, too). More importantly, she performs them with amplitude in her execution, which is almost never the case for Salos, in contrast (whose execution of 90% of the times looks like that of a 12-year old). I remember Almudena noting in 2017 broadcasts that Dina had like 6 or 7 original elements registered for clubs then. And I'd argue only like 2 of those elements were genuinely original. I hope Karpushenko fights for the introduction of the endless reservoir of clever, original elements that she introduces in her gymnasts so we can finally see some fair scores.

By original elements do you mean original ADs? Could you please explain a little about original ADs? I find them so confusing and hard to understand! Do you have any famous examples?
@Wiserwords25
@Wiserwords25 4 жыл бұрын
I feel like adding making original elements add up to the score would make rg even more subjective - who’s to say which elements are truly original and which elements have been stolen from other gymnasts? (Not going to lie, I keep seeing “original” elements by Halkina like catch of hoop with neck and foot and her famous penche turn with ball on her foot being used by certain gymnasts, can’t remember who for now,) Dina’s clubs in 2017 was actual pretty original for me, she just threw away some elements cause they didn’t give her points, didn’t execute them properly, or just used them to the point of them not being original anymore. And finally ( btw, this isn’t meant to offend you or anything), I’d say that in 2018, Salos maybe had the execution of a 12 year old. By 2019, she had her moments, but I’d say by 2020 (now), she sharpened up her movements and threw away most careless errors. But it’s on,y the beginning of the year (not really) so who knows?
@QQ-wl6yt
@QQ-wl6yt 4 жыл бұрын
@@Wiserwords25 Re Salos, it's not about her making mistakes, which is understandable, since her elements are pretty tricky. What I find so annoying about her (and about Harnasko, almost to the same degree) is that they are so obviously focused on trying stuff out with the apparatus handling that the actual gymnastics are so relegated to a lesser concern. It's like they have no strength or dynamism in their movement. I am not expecting them to levitate like Tchachina (that even made Bessonova seem to land from her overextended leaps like a sack of potatoes by comparison), but maybe think of Agiurguculese, who is also quite innovative with AD and yet is acceptably dynamic in her BD execution. So for Salos, with the pedigree of a BLR school behind her to perform like a 12 year-old is just further evidence of the misplaced incentives of this code-of-points. And believe me, I'm not lamenting the overreliance of AD over BD like some Soldatova fan (routines as basic as hers or Lalas have no reason to be on a RUS national team spot).

She is so beautiful to watch sorry to ask this but who the hell decides what the code points is for the cycles? I keep hearing over and over again it's Irina Viner that molds the code to suit her top favorite gymnastics is that true? if it is it makes me see the whole RG world with whole different eyes , that's super unfair and it shows no matter what non-russian girls have 0 chances I think RG could be so much more popular and known maybe not like football but at least like Figure Skating I think this little stuff don't help the sport at all but that's just my opinion
@Wiserwords25
@Wiserwords25 4 жыл бұрын
Anya Flameflow Pretty sure that Viner does not make up the rules. There’s a set committee that does it. I’m also pretty sure that Viner making the rules is a conspiracy, don’t know where they got it from 🤷🏻‍♀️. There’s been an ongoing trend of judges massively favoring Russian gymnasts, so that might be were it came from.

@Wiserwords25
@Wiserwords25 4 жыл бұрын
@Anya Flameflow I’m not exactly sure. I heard somewhere that the committee takes the Olympics as an example and takes what they like and what they don’t like. I also heard that this cop was partly inspired by Artistic Gymanstics’s open scoring in a way. Parts of the new cop has been shared already, I can’t remember what. I think it was on fig’s website and part of it on Clematis’s Instagram. Most likely, they’ll keep the open difficulty, and change the amount of points certain difficulties have. From what I can remember, fig lowered the penalties for drops, and added an artistic score. Nothing is final, though. Hope it helps!

@@Wiserwords25 haa ok thanks one last question I don't know much about the code but how do you think the new code will look like in practice, like what kind of routines and gymnastics it will favour? sorry for having so many questions I'm just curious and its hard to come across someone who understands how stuff work
@Wiserwords25
@Wiserwords25 4 жыл бұрын
Anya Flameflow This is just based purely on my opinion, so be warned 😂. Anyways, I think that the new code will favor Averina type gymnasts again (fast, quick thinkers will lots of difficulty). It will also probably raise the value of pivots more, so favoring Lala Kramarenko. In terms of possibly adding an artistry score, I don’t think it’ll do anything helpful, considering the Averinas are getting the same artistry score as Halkina rn. That’s just purely my opinion. Lots of people favor Pobedushkina, though I don’t know how to make a cop that puts her at top. So: the new cop will probably favor Kramarenko, as much as I wish it not too. And also Trubnikova tho not as much as Lala
