A Father-Sons Trip on the Camino de Santiago Portuguese Route

So very inspiring to see this father son team walking. Thanks for sharing. With my retirement in summer 2026, I will walk the Caminho Português with my son. We are looking forward to spending some father son time together hiking.

Yes, that's awesome! We actually met a few other father/son pilgrims on the Portuguese Route last year. I've been trying to talk my dad into going back next year and walking the French Way, good luck in '26 and Buen Camino!

It was the FEIRAS NOVAS festival in September and it was in Ponte de Lima, Portugal. We were told it's the largest folk festival in Portugal, and that rooms were going to be hard to book last minute as we were walking through the area. They were, it was busy, but it was fun to experience the festival for one night! It looks like the 2024 festival is September 4-9.

Thank you! Up, we stuck to the Central Route from Porto to Santiago. Next time we might incorporate a bit of the Coastal Route, maybe for the first few days, but it was great! Buen Camino!

Actually it was my idea, only because I'd hiked a Camino previously a few years ago. But, as soon as I pitched it to him he was totally on board!!!
