here is a tip when fefnir does his special attack just stand in between the fire pilers and you take no damage you just have to be quick about it before they sprout up.

There are two mavericks he could remind you of, both from Mega Man X3. Gravity Beetle is a beetle, & thus bears some semblance; Crush Crawfish has a similar fighting style, with the same picking-you-up attack.
