it almost feels illegal hearing him talk about this kind of stuff

I like this guy. Its almost strange to hear a clemson coach say things like “a shit load of reps” because dabo is so polished, but I really like that he talks like a real human. this is the kind of talk that I would have appreciated being in the room with as a player. And I really believe that you have to know something inside and out to be able to explain it simply, and this man is explaining some fairly complex ideas in a way that anyone with a moderate football knowledge can understand. I think he’s going to end up being a good hire.

Your comment really does sound stupid in so many ways, but the players go to Clemson because of Dabo Swinney, so i guess they don't mind how he approaches things.

@@justsomemincedgarlic No, your comment did sound stupid "garlic boy". Just chill...out and do the "window drill" Garret was talking about.

I loved how he explained everything really well and even drew things out. We got a home run hire with coach Riley.

Defense wins championships and the replacement for Venables is not the right fit. Boulware says he is exact opposite of Venables.

@@juanbarberis7192 Interesting take. I didn't realize Boulware has been around the program as of recently. Coach Goodwin served as a defensive analyst for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL and these linebackers are playing better than we've ever seen as a collective unit. Brent Venables was a great defensive coordinator and his passion was evident on the sidelines but last year we had far fewer busts in coverage than I ever saw with coach Venables. Not to mention our defense magically got a lot better after coach Goodwin joined the staff in 2018.

Defense wins championships is pretty cliché. Goodwin’s fit apparently isn’t an issue with the players. I like Ben but I also saw this defense start to play in the future. They sure up the back end and it’ll be the best defense Clemson has seen in a long time…

@@nosajdrewz9345 Agreed. While BV presence was definitely felt, sometimes he would be over aggressive and give up a busted play. I see Goodwin as more of a guy who can analyze a play on the fly and adjust his defense accordingly. Both coaches are really good in my opinion, they're just different.

@@juanbarberis7192 Ben Bouleare might have said that, but Brent Venables also said that Wes Goodwin was the best guy to replace him on staff.
