I feel like people r purposely trying to misunderstand the slave ship part. She never said they didnt have rights like slaves. Shes just explaining the LOOK of a tour bus saying the bunks were stacked how is that a problem?

The discussion about colorism’s and the insecurity that some light skin women can have is an angle I haven’t heard before . When you have been resting on being pretty forever that makes you insecure because you begin to think all you have are your looks.

The birth of hip hop was from black people in general. A lot of the people who started hip hop are of Caribbean descent, Slick Rick, KRS 1, Dougie Fresh, Dj Red Alert just to name a few. The founder of hip hop is literally Jamaican- American, Dj Kool Herc. Just saying. 🤷🏿♀️.

Tea, you definitely misinterpreted her tour bus/slave boat reference. Just because someone says something looks like something or resembles something, does not equate to it being what it resembles. The natural look of any tour bus will remind most of us of our time spent at the Blacks in Wax Museum in Baltimore, MD witnessing those bunks our ancestors had to endure. A tour bus certainly has the LOOKS of a slave boat.

I believe Ti is against that comparison because it is too big a of exaggeration. I agree that a tour bus shouldn’t be compared to a slave ship. A tour bus is still 100% more comfortable

@Zachii123 I agree with you. A slave ships were deplorable, and a tour bus at any giving time is more comfortable than a slave ship.

*sigh* Bro *sigh* 🙄. The way Ice speaks is exhausting. I also knew her and her people weren’t 100% when they added an additional $10k to shows that were ALREADY Booked the minute ‘Munch’ got played on NY radio. We’re talking about promoters that took a chance on her when she was a “Tik Tok rapper“. It was like “oh well, yesterday’s price, isn’t today’s price🤷🏼♀️

It sounds like Cleo really didn’t have a lot of her own disposable money at the time and just doesn’t want to say that to save face which could be why her story wasn’t making sense. Nothing wrong with it but like you said, if I got the means to be comfortable and YOU’RE not making me comfortable then imma do it myself. But at the same time you don’t wanna rub anyone the wrong way on a big opportunity as well. I feel for her.

1:57:25 Most of the people Ti referenced as the creators of hip hop are actually Caribbean-Americans. All of the founding fathers of hip hop are Caribbean. Grandmaster Flash is Bajan, Afrika Bambaataa is Bajan and Jamaican, DJ Kool Herc is Jamaican. Slick Rick is Jamaican and he was raised in London then immigrated to the United States. Biggie was also Jamaican. To Ti’s point, if anything Caribbeans aren’t given enough credit for their contributions to rap music and being pioneers in hip hop culture. That’s proven by the fact that most people (like Ti) don’t know the ethnicity of these men or other rappers, producers, DJs, etc. who are actually Caribbean. They just assume they’re African American.
@neenahlacroix98694 ай бұрын
That's cool and all but the majority of hip hop pioneers were african american...lots of contributors from other cultures.
@KayTalkNYC4 ай бұрын
@@neenahlacroix9869 Let me know where I said otherwise and then come back to me. Caribbean-Americans weren’t just contributors they were apart of its creation. Saying this doesn’t mean “there were more Caribbean-Americans than African Americans in hip hop”. No, it’s just acknowledging the integral role they played which they don’t get credit for (To Ti’s point).
