The Drew Carey show was already running before Drew Carey started hosting Whose line. The chronology is like this: (1) Ryan and Colin work together at improv clubs. (2) Whose Line producers bring Ryan to Whose Line UK, and Colin a bit later. Ryan is splitting his time between L.A. and London. (3) The Drew Carey Show starts in the US. Ryan lands the job to play Lewis. (4) Drew becomes host of Whose Line US. (5) Drew brings other Whose Line people to his show for occasional guest roles.

Colin actually auditioned for Whose Line UK and failed, he then auditioned again and got 1 episode but wasn't asked back and then Ryan begged the producers to give Colin another chance as he knew how good Colin was after working with him before and Colin was then cast on an episode with Ryan and they clicked and Colin's remained with the show ever since. Also, Drew was the one who got ABC to buy the rights to Whose Line; he was the driving force behind getting the US version made.

+Lu Bu's Pursuer This was the Drew Carry Show. It was a special (Ryan was always on it) I forget what it was called but it was recorded live and Brad would lead a few improv games. Colin was on one or two other episodes as Eugenie but I think the live special was in season 4 or 6. It was really funny.

When Craig and Drew (on the Price is Right) switched hosting a few years back and I found out they'd already done a show together, I immediately went back and binged it all! Then I remembered I had already seen much of the show, just forgotten it because it's a bit old now, but damn is it funny! Craig Ferguson, half the Whose Line cast, and Diedrich Bader, it's one of the best sitcoms ever!

@@killwalker The guy who played Scotty on the original Star Trek was Canadian. His ancestors came from Scotland, but he'd probably never even met somebody who lived there before he got the role. It's up there with Dick Van Dyke's cockney accent from Mary Poppins.

He's Canadian Irish, and can do any accent he hears (according to him) and his Scotty accent is based on the Aberdeen Scotland area dialect of Scottish. But as he talks in his normal voice, its clear his Irish parent had an influence on his natural accent. Idk how to link the video. I just typed "James Doohan Interview" and its the first or second vid to pop up. He's wearing a suit coat with a badge or emblem of some kind. Time Stamp of the vid is "7 Years Ago" but its clearly a 90's video.

Besides, it's not like all Scottish people sound the same, or ppl in the UK, Canada, etc. No 1 Scottish accent is universal to the island. I watched this show with my mom sometimes when I was a little kid (was born in 95). I started watching craig's show a couple of years ago, and just found out that he was actually in this show. I can't believe it, I don't know why I don't remember his character. I don't remember that much about this show but still, it's freaking Craig Ferguson. He's my favorite comedian now. Ryan was the only Whose Line performer (Drew doesn't count) who was *permanently* on the Drew Carey show as a main character. But Drew sometimes brought in other Whose Liners for temporary guest roles, such as in this scene here. And Ryan was on the Drew Carey show *before* Drew Carey became Whose Line host. People claiming Drew got his show because of Whose Line have it backward. Drew got his own show by being a well known stand-up. THEN he became Whose Line host after he had DCS.

TheOrgano They did 2 or 3 episodes of The Drew Carey Show live. In those live episodes they incorporated a couple Whose Line games and Brad acted as the host. Other Whose Line cast members made appearances on the live Drew shows, such as Chip Esten, Wayne Brady and Greg Proops. Laura Hall also appeared and played piano for a couple scenes
