I swear, these guys must have found out about the lie-detector test I took in the early eighties somehow. I applied to work for this liquor store, and they told me something like: “We don’t care about whether you got high before, we just want to make sure you’re not a thief”. So, I go down to the lie-detector guy’s office, he straps me up, and eventually the lie-detector guy gets to the drug use part of the quiz. Have you ever smoked marijuana? “Yes” How many times? “I don’t know”. Give me an approximate number. “I don’t know. Maybe fifteen-thousand times”. He gives me a weird look. What other drugs have you taken? The guy made me recount literally every drug I took during the 1970s, and made me guess how many times I took it. How many times have you taken LSD? “I don’t know. A couple hundred times, I guess. How many times have you drank cranberry juice?” On and on through every recreational drug known to man at that time. I must have gave him the names of thirty different drugs I "tried”. Later, the liquor store guys read it back to me in the store, laughing their asses off. I wish I had a copy of it! I worked for them for three years.
