We recently stayed at the same hotel post Anthem cruise. We had a deluxe family suite, and it was absolutely wonderful. Great location, easy transportation, and many pubs just below the hotel. We can't wait to go back to experience more of London!

What a coincidence, we’re booked to stay here in October, before heading to Southampton to cruise on Anthem. I’m glad your experience at The Clermont was so good, we hope to be as fortunate! I don’t think asking to switch rooms, and obtaining that request with minimal fuss makes for a disappointing stay, as OP describes it.

I thought the first room was better but understood why you needed to move. The hotel is attractive but the rooms are much less so. The price is pretty normal for such a great location. I stayed at a chain hotel near Westminster last month and paid considerably more. The room was nicer but no view at all , just a very close office building. So I think you got a deal.

Yes I liked the first room more as well. But we’ve stayed in so many better places for similar prices in London

i have to go to that Beautiful hotel for a meeting once a year in Decembe but i don't stay there. i didn't know it was only £200 a night. the premier inn at Kings Cross is £134 and i wouldn't mind the lift sound for your price. i reckon it was cheap because it was near the lift. i can only summise you searched for the cheapest room available? our meeting is in lovely surrounds and wonderful food at lunchtime. i will take the option of the 'room by the lift' next December it won't bother me after 3 double Jameson's and four pints of Guiness

I wish I had watched this before booking The Clermont. I hate my room, but since I've unpacked and have been staying here for days, it's too inconvenient to change rooms. But I won't come back to this hotel in the future. Service really isn't up to par. They don't seem like a four-star hotel at all.

@@elegantgiraffe9570 just search my playlist for hotels / London hotels - I’ve stayed in zillions. I’m a big fan of the Standard at King’s Cross and the Sea Containers at South Bank but depending on budget I loved the Shangri La at Shard and the Savoy

Beautiful Hotel, why not advertise that the rooms are near the lifts and price them as discounted, bet it's not the first time they have moved people.

Yes, sorry, I scheduled for the wrong dates. Won’t be changed again though. Our room I’m was in a terrible location; paper thin walls and next to a lift shaft plus people congregating outside to use lift. A long walk from the entrance / exit requiring 2 different lifts.
