In this episode it’s embarkation day as I board Regal Princess in Southampton U.K. ready for a 12 night British Isles cruise. I’ll talk you through arrival into Ocean cruise terminal, required documentation, what happens to your luggage, the check-in and embarkation process, the Captain’s Circle Elite / suites lounge area, how muster works onboard a Princess ship, some info about the Princess I’ll package and what it includes, plus my first impressions of the ship, my cabin and sail away.

Our first cruise was on Regal. Loved that ship. Sailed just after Covid so masks everywhere and testing before embarkation. We did Portland and Belfast. It rained for the majority of the cruise but at one point the captain found an area of sunshine in the Irish Sea and literally went around and around in circles to keep us out of the rain for a few hours. Amazing customer care

Never really looked into Princess I was quite impressed with their premium package, the complimentary things you could order, liked the layout of your room and the ship looks great! Looking forward to catching up with the rest of the series!

If you put a small bulldog clip on the bottom of the shower curtain it helps to stop it sticking to you. We did this on Regal and it worked!

We did a Princess cruise in 2022 and really enjoyed it. The medallions are great. To be anywhere on board and be able to order a drink is great. We liked that they do land cruise additions too. We started at Toronto and went across land to Quebec where we boarded the ship to end in NYC.

@@traceybartlam7737 That does sound like a great feature, being able to order a drink anywhere on the ship and to be able to know you can move somewhere else if needed, and the staff will still be able to find you! We were discussing last night the idea of perhaps booking a Princess cruise for next year, so maybe we shall have to book one! 😉 That sounds like a fantastic itinerary - bet you had a great time?! 😃

I am wondering if the room service is better that when we were on her in June 22 (21 Days Med).... our only cruise so far. The Shows were very good on that cruise, and the Entertainment staff were very good. Food was pretty good, although we never tried the premium places. The Wifi at that point only worked fast enough when we were in ports.

Jamie. A news just broke about EES from November for travels to EU. UK passport holders will be affected. How is it going to work for cruises to EU? Can you please find out and make a video about this? Thx

EES from November, ETIAS for travel from May 2025, according to news. Currently if I go to the US by cruise ship / plane, I’m responsible for getting an ESTA. Surely the cruise lines will email passengers likely to be affected once they have all the info / relevant links and remind them they’re responsible for applying for an ETIAS? I don’t see how it would be different than going to the US? Am I missing something?

@@TravelBlogJamie noone seems to know how EES will work for cruises. If you go to Spain for a holiday, you will have fingerprints and photo taken at the airport , the same when you leave Spain. So it’s only one country. With cruises there will be several countries. This will cause lengthy delays when thousands of passengers leave the ship each time and need EES done for each and every passenger. I just hope they will do it at the embarking port in the UK , and again when returning. I just can’t see EES being done at every EU port, otherwise it will be a nightmare each time.
