I don't like Hampton at the top of the 2nd. I think you can get bigger impact and still address RB in the 3rd/4th. I'm looking at OL or DL in round 2. That extra 3rd that you got in a trade would look great on someone like Nicholas Singleton or TreVeyon Henderson. One of them may be available in the 4th. McCord is the laziest thrower of the football that I've ever seen. Weak arm. I just don't see it. I haven't looked at all of these QB's yet, but I like Milroe and Dart so far. I'm not sure Milroe lasts to the 3rd though. Dart will likely be there a bit later.

A smart org would do option A. Draft your qb of the future when you get in this position and sign a vet. Literally follow the Falcons blueprint. Compete right away and have your future in your program learning. If you're chasing mid rounders and vet qbs to plug the position you'll be mediocre. You'd feel better about your franchise's future especially 26 and beyond, because now you dont have to trade assets to move up and go get a guy, you can take BPA. I see takes for Graham, but show me the success teams have had when they took D Brown, or Q Williams. Success rate drafting a tackle in round 1 for the last 5 years has been low. The position is no longer plug and play. Carter would be interesting but he's undersized. In a division that plays smash mouth football teams it doesnt make sense to draft a guy that high thats a situational edge. There is plenty of film on him getting erased in the run game.

Carter feels like a no brainer. I like Ersery. I like Harmon. I hate Hampton. If we take a RB, I think we need the opposite. Our O is desperately in need of a home run guy. Njoku is the only YAC guy we have. And i don't know enough about McCord this year to say, but I generally don't like taking QBs in rounds 3-4. If theyre good enough they probably went earlier. I'd say its a solid B since the only blemish is a preference thing. Though i definitely think a fast back would be better.

My guess is that Browns will actually take QB Ward or Sanders now, but not for the right reasons (best player). They need a new shiny QB object to take the attention from the Watson mess. Now that they have tanked bad enough to be able to grab a notable QB in the draft they will probably cash that check. They can captivate the audience and bide time for another two years (if the QB turns out good enough they can take credit and carry on longer, if not they have 2 years of cover "developing" the new QB...). The poor man's way to appease the fans (sign Flacco or Brissett) is what I would prefer (and then draft best player), but that would only buy 1/2 to 1 year cover for the regime. If they take a QB let's hope they get lucky and they pan out!
