Have fun trying to fight this in court. The owners have every right in wanting to build a new stadium on ground that they’ve already purchased. Approximately 60% of the stadiums in the NFL are built in the suburbs. If you want the stadium to stay, find a body of land that is away from the lake (too much rust prevention upkeep being that close to the lake) and that can house the facility that they’ve got in mind. We won’t wait too long because the owners have every legal right to do this and you have zero ground to stand on. You’re just mad that you’re not going to get anymore kick backs and the city is losing tax money, which you call revenue (another word for profit), that the city more than likely wastes.

@@216Numbskull it’s the mist and the moisture in the air that causes the rust on buildings close to bodies of water. Adding to all of this, the City of Cleveland owns the stadium and they’re barely doing any upkeep on it any longer. Daryl Ruiter (I hate quoting him as he’s wrong more often than he’s correct) said something recently: “Your honor, we know the Browns will have completely fulfilled the legal obligations of their lease, but we would like you to force them to sign a new one to keep playing in a decrepit city owned stadium we don’t even want to maintain!”

That’s the main reason why they’re not putting a retractable roof on the existing one. Have you taken in consideration what they already have to do in regard to maintenance of the existing stadium when it comes to rust prevention? Downtown is the central location that most people can get to. Keep the team downtown! Also, it's the CLEVELAND Browns, not the "everyone except for Cleveland" Browns. Just put a dome on the stadium downtown. But then, the city of Brook Park should buy the 175 acres, there, and build the rendering in the image, on its own, without the Browns moving. Also, if the Browns do move, one report said that the city will tear down the stadium downtown. Don't! Lets keep the stadium downtown, whether the Browns move or not. It’s a shit show and you got a park an hour away just to get to the fucking game most times and then you gotta pay a shit load of money to do so even when you park an hour away Like it’s ridiculous. We can’t even we don’t even have good team like we’ve never had a good team. The curse is real.

I've been there. It's hard to get to and not very nice. When the lease is up there really isn't anything the city can do if they are in the same market. Better get used to the idea.

There is nothing wrong with the stadium we have what is wrong with people.

They should have built a dome stadium on the lake to begin with. Would have made it a thousand times more practical then they could have hosted more events all year round. The owners should pay 100% for a new arena. By the design, it looks to have twice the seats. Which means alot more money to be made. The assholes will make their money back on the investment of the build.

Having the stadium downtown and without a dome is dumb...having it off the lake is dumb, and not being able to use it than for 8 games and 2 concerts a year is a misspend of taxpayer money like that stupid medical mart convention center the idiot city hall and county pitched us on thats NOT even used for that purpose

Cleveland historically has had one of the best fan experiences.. until the Browns abandoned Cleveland.... Since the new Browns.. the fan experience as sucked simply because the team has been horrid... maybe if they actually could win games.. it' be different. They should never have allowed the NFL to talk them into the Ravens.. Cleveland had all the cards. You don't want expansion.. NFL expansion might as well be a college team.. except I think Ohio State could have beat the current browns many years. Cleveland, get the state on your side.. if the state won't give funds... a move even to just outside the city won't happen. Where I grew up, a team tried it but found the law prevented the state from aiding any entity (sports team, manufacturer...etc) any incentive to move from one place (in state) to another... they can poach from other states.. but cities within cannot poach from sister cities..

Well, you can always travel the 90 north to Orchard Park where the new Bills stadium is being built without a dome, and will have real grass on the field. 😂🤷🏾

The lesson would be that Ohio doesn't need the Browns. They're a terrible team. I feel bad for the good players stuck there. A lot more can be done with the waterfront than a failed team. They can go.
