Those abandoned roads are in better shape than our roads here in Sacramento.
@VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM4 жыл бұрын
I was using google street view to drive around multi million dollar homes in Beverly Hills, and I was amazed at how trashed the roads are right in front of these homes. These people are paying tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars in property tax, sales tax, and income tax and barely seeing a cent of it back. The state could at least try to make it look like they aren't outright thieves and stealing from the people, keep the roads nice and keep somewhat of a facade going. It's amazing they haven't had an uprising. That is what happens when everyone is a wage and debt slave (no matter how rich), they don't want to risk losing it all by pushing back, or are to tired and warn out to bother. Any time I visit family in California is makes me angry when I have to pay sales tax knowing it's just outright be stolen from me (no sales tax in Oregon). And worse that the money is going to finance some of the most evil and corrupt people on earth.

Dear friend: Thank you for opening the eyes of the viewers. Some Cities/States in U.S. are exploding with jobs, infrastructure, or the like. Other places like Cleveland (that once was thriving with industry) have become desolate because of financial mismanagement; industry closings or relocations, foreclosures; homelessness; unemployment, and other disparities. Strangely enough, many locals who are in despair maintain loyalty to the Cleveland sports teams and their millionaire players. Again, thank you for that presentation and bravery, taping those unchartered locations. Love you and keep up the good work. Ms. P!

This has been the American way for far longer than you guys seem to know. This is how we operate economically, and unfortunately socially. As for the economic side, just look at everything from our infamous "Ghost towns" of the Wild West days, the Southern Mill Towns of the late 1800's to early-mid 1900'sa, and the entire rust belt of which Cleavland is at the outskirts of. Think Cleavland is bad? try having nearly an entire CITY abandoned like this. Camden, New Jersey. Atlantic City is rapidly heading there since it's collapse as the Casino Capital of the Eastern Seaboard. Baltimore, Maryland locally where I'm from has had neighborhoods like this as well. The problem here is not enough people are willing to find out what has been wrong since the birth of this nation that causes us to do this to ourselves.
@hostelrichmond80084 жыл бұрын
Was this a "new" discovery for you ? Much of the industrial and some residential areas you showed in the preview have been abandoned and rotting since the late 1970's when city-wide busing began as the solution to public school integration. Buffalo, Detroit, Chicago's south-side, Youngstown, and Pittsburgh all have vastly similar neighborhoods, and former industrial areas.

There seems to be some uneducated discourse surrounding the fall of industry in Cleveland and across the country. I hate to disappoint people, but the industrial buildings you see here have been vacant for decades (predating Clinton and Obama--sorry to burst your bubble), and the abandoned housing complexes are a result of this decline. It's far bigger than NAFTA and the unions. It's also about poor corporate decisions, bad investments, and the age-old superiority complex, among other things.
@VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM4 жыл бұрын
Nobody said this was all recent. He in no way was implying this happened because of Trump or anything. To many people jump to that conclusion when somebody is simply reporting something negative. Had we not all been sold out to China for the last few decades from both sides , then most likely someone else could have moved in if one company made a bad decision or went bankrupt. I see all the tens of thousands of factories in China making all our crap and keep thinking that those should be here still. The Chinese middle class is huge and growing. And each factory owner over there in China is rich for it. The little people not so much but they are way better off now than how super horrible it was before. Hundreds of millions in China have come out extreme poverty working in the factories that used to be in America. They hand out welfare money here to try to cover over it. And created fake jobs that shouldn't exist like money loser Uber, or millions of youtube creators, or the zombie companies that can't compete against China but are surviving on cheap debt and a fake bubble economy created by the Fed. Or some joke of a government job.
