Looks like one more club to try during my fitting this fall. ZX5, C721, i210, and now the XL. I love choices.

The new Cleveland clubs look, sound and perform as good as more expensive brands . Finding somewhere to test them is quite difficult.

Those look like a fantastic game improvement with tons of tech packed in there. I'm really intrigued by weighting in the grip as well.

Thank You for this very informative video. I checked out a lot of videos on improving my game. [I am a high Senior handicap hacker] I couldn't believe the forgiveness and great feel these clubs gave me when I finally tried them. The following day I tried many clubs and bought a full set of the Launcher XL irons with the graphite shafts. I have now played with them for two weeks and do not regret my decision to buy them. Today, I went out out and shot a terrific round. Thank You for this informative video!!

I can say from experience, I bought the new launcher xl HALO iron/hybrid.....(NOT THESE BUT THE OTHER ONES LIKE THIS) and .....my God do they improve my golf game....iv never hit a 6 iron so HIGH AND FAR!!!

Informative presentation, Dan! That's a lot of technology at a great price point! Look forward to seeing these in person.

The launcher XL irons with graphite shafts seem very light. Is C8 swing Weight the correct number? It seems very light compared to other mens irons.

There is so much sneaky tech in this set of irons. Was an absolute blast putting the 6 iron to the test.

I have these clubs and they are fantastic. Feel great and even the bad shot is good. Performance per dollar got my attention after hitting clubs similar, TaylorMade, Callaway... I chose these clubs. New I paid $500 off the shelf. Now I believe they're $800 around there.

Cleveland is a solid brand with very good clubs.

You might have mentioned that this is a hollow-body design. You can also order the set without the 8 gram counterbalancing weight in the grip end and 1/2" shorter shafts for "max control" - which leads one to think that the counterbalance may give you greater swing speed with less control. Somehow the back of the club reminds me of the new Titleist T-200.

Correct. In our feature on the website this morning (where this video is embedded as well), it talks a bit about that. Same with the Halo irons previously released a couple of weeks ago.

Actually it’s a combo set with the hollow body design in the 4-7, 8-DW are cavity backs.

Thanks for your review. I tried Titleist T300mi irons last week and found it felt better than my APEX DCB (my swing speed is around 77mph). I'm now wondering whether Cleveland XL HALO irons will have better feeling than T300mi so looking forward to your further review on these two clubs. Thank you!

Im not sure we have a comparison coming, but the XL Halo review is up and the performance is rock solid.
@chriselerick47703 жыл бұрын
those sound really good! also impressive standard deviation.
@THPGOLF3 жыл бұрын
Sound is always amplified in the tech studio, and maybe amplified is not the right term because its not a louder vs softer thing, but more you can tell easily when something sounds good and when it doesn't. These sound fantastic for an iron in the category.

I don't think someone with your clubhead speed is going to even consider playing these clubs,it would be for a player with 80- 95 mph driver speed.

What would be the deciding factor between choosing the Launcher Halos and the Launcher XL irons?
@THPGOLF3 жыл бұрын
They are pretty different irons. One being a larger hybrid style, albeit it progressive and the other being a more traditional for its category. Outside of both being made by Cleveland and featuring some similar technology such as mainframe and counter balancing, the actual heads are quite different.
@craigpelletier69313 жыл бұрын
What do you think about the wht. in heel, gimmick or helpful.
@THPGOLF3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean weight in butt of club? If so, counter balancing can be helpful. It allows for some flexibility for fitting as well and if one prefers a more head heavy feeling, it can be removed.

Between these and the Halo’s. My first NEW set. I’m a high handicapper. What do you suggest?

Halos but both are good

How do these compare to the Cleveland Halo XL irons you reviewed recently?
@THPGOLF3 жыл бұрын
Ross, They are pretty different irons and while they share some technology stories, such as mainframe (face forgiveness) and counter balancing, they are still quite different. Larger sole and hybrid style on the Halo, while these share a more traditional cavity back look. I think if people have the chance to hit both, they will get a bit more than the words we type, but overall two very good sets, especially considering the price point.

Well idk. I was looking for the driver last week and couldn't find one in Denver at PGA. I just bought the UHX so I'm not looking for irons but I would like the new driver and 3 hybrid

Wanted to test these in Toronto, could not find. I think it is basically a Srixon Z4 in Cleveland disguise.

Not sure on exact date for UK. In the US they hit stores on 9/17. May want to check locally.

V-SOLE! But the integration of mainframe is big time too!
@THPGOLF3 жыл бұрын
The V Sole is rather subtle as shown in the video, but the changes makes a lot of sense. The addition of the mainframe technology that we first saw in the Srixon ZX lineup was a surprise at this price point.

I don't get this . These are game improvement clubs . They are not made for a guy who can hit a 6i 196-200 yards. Why not also get a guy with a 75mph iron club head speed to hit them too... or slow your club head speed down significantly. This does not help the guys the club is intended for ...just a suggestion

We do that. In fact our forum is filled with reviews of all skill levels.
