I found my slot cars (Aurora, Atlas, Tyco and a lot of track) in a box that was stored away for the last 54 years! Think any of it will run? I'm still into HO model trains, though, building a new layout at 73 years old.

I was born a little bit late for slot cars. I was born in 1960 so by the time I was old enough for that H.O. Scale was all there was. I had seen some slot cars and tracks in some magazines my uncle had but they were pretty much a thing of the past by the time I got to the party. Trains were still all of the different scales

@@georgemyers6518 i was born in 70, the HO scale was dominating the home market and the larger scales were still around in hobby shop back rooms for a bit. Was cool to see. But the larger scales faded out for a long time. But they are back better than ever.. fun to be a kid again.. appreciate you watching

Excellent video whenever I was younger we used to go to we called them slot car parlors where there was big tracks set up you know you can race eight cars they were bigger cars you know what I'm talking about? We had little hocar setups in our house also but these were cars that were probably 5 times bigger Anyway really cool place man good video

@@chiefbrokenbrain i sure do know what your talking about, we had a few tracks around my town it was a lot of fun yo go watch. I think they were the 1:32 scale cars. Great times, but they are making a come back and there are hobby shops operating the tracks again. Appreciate you watching

We use to have car shows out here California but not anymore..Very sad.1/32 is big especially in Northern Cal. Oh well maybe they will come back some day.Thanks for vid it looks great !

There's quite a few slot car shows out this way each year, they are definitely back on the rise. A few months back there was a big one in Vegas, poke around and see if you got any coming in 2025 in the California area.. glad you enjoyed the video, appreciate you watching

Of coarse we all would like more views but I'm happy with what I get. I like the friendships that developed from the folks who leave comments.. so yeah it's paying off.. does get a bit rough to keep up with others videos and comments.. I was just curious. I think since I have 2 channels it looks like I'm always posting something.. I do shorts.. but I only post 2 videos a week per channel.

Thank you, this was my first slot car show, I definitely will be attending more in the future. Appreciate the feed back, I usually do what i call fire hose videos thru places like this to try and show as much as I can.. I found most people don't watch past 3 min of video. As far as pricing, some vendors you had to ask what they were asking. And I don't know what a good price of these things should be.. but taking into consideration of your comment, I will try and do some of that in my next video. I do like feed back and if you or others are interested in that stuff, I will try to accommodate. No problem.. I appreciate your interest and definitely you watching. I think there is another show around April that I may get to go to.. thank you. Hope you have a merry Christmas 🎅

My buddy is into slot cars big time, I never realized how big of a deal they were. Does TYCO still make stuff? I haven’t seen that name in forever. So I guess there is some skill involved to race these? That Adam West Batmobile is awesome! Wow, pretty decent sized venue they have there, a buck a piece, you can’t beat that. Love the General Lee/Batmobile poster. I’m just sitting here catching up on vids, got my window open, a beautiful night, listening to CSX blowing the horn now through Smithton. @@avlisk oh yeah, AFX and Autoworld still cranking out new stuff all the time. You can find some 20 dollar Autoworld cars at Hobby lobby. Break out your old stuff give them a tune up and let them rip.. appreciate you watching

It appears that this show (or at least this video) is almost entirely oriented toward HO scale slot cars with only a brief glimpse or two of any of the larger scales. Is there a slot car show anywhere in the US that is all or mostly for 1/32 scale?

Hello Robert, this was my first slot car show, as you seen in the video, you are correct, wasn't a whole lot of 1/32 or 1/24 at this one. I will be researching other times and dates to attend other shows as i know now there are many thru out the year in various locations. They just had a show in parsipany new jersey that I wanted to attend but things happened that I could not go. Check our a few other slot car channels and see if they did any video of that show.. appreciate you watching. And hope I can bring you another show with more 1/32

Slot cars these days are 1/64, 1/24, and 1/32 the larger scales look decent on O gauge layouts I've seen
