Grew up on the South Side(now known as Tremont), 1 exit from Progressive Field, (downtown), W.14th Street, Lincoln Park, Tremont School area, too many landmarks + there seemed like there was a church on every corner + so many ethnic diverse cultures/customs, languages, foods, religions back then 🙋. Everyone was inclusive + attended festivals, parades, and local celebrations! *There are 2 other Cleveland, Ohio signs; totalling 3 signs. #2) E. 9th Street, #3)If you are driving from Progressive field go 1 exit West to W. 14th street exit, the at stop sign at the end of exit turn left + you can see it(*It's right before Abbey Bridge when leaving the SouthSide now known as the Tremont neighborhood)on Abbey Avenue in Tremont. If that were confusing again here are the 3 scripted Cleveland, Ohio Signs locations if you want to visit + take a photo of it or with it; Three scripted Cleveland signs are located at #1)Edgewater Park, #2)Northcoast Harbor on E. 9th Street and #3)on Abbey Avenue in Tremont.

Another tip- if the Edgewater Cleveland sign is full of people, which is normally is, try the Tremont or North Coast Harbor ones instead. Honestly the North Coast Harbor sign has a better view of Cleveland (in my opinion). A few more suggestions from a local- the best food isn't downtown or even on West 25th, the best food is in Ohio City and Tremont. Get breakfast at Grumpy's and order the Cajun potatoes! Get chocolate at Malley's, and go to a location with an ice cream shop in it (the North Olmsted location has a rotating eating section in the middle of the store). If you wanna see gorgeous houses, take a drive down Lake Road on the west side or the Coventry neighborhood (along Coventry Road) on the east side. If you're in the east side suburbs, you have have to go to Corky and Lenny's deli. And, fun fact, the 35mph turn on I-90 is literally called Dead Man's Curve, so.... there's that lmao. But you probably WILL drive down it if you go to the art museum or the gorgeous cultural gardens along MLK blvd (another highly recommend). Making me homesick. I lived in the Cleveland area for many years. Saw many great bands in the flats, and used to shop at west side market all the time.

I took my son there in 1997 when he was 5 for the baseball all-star game. We spent a week there going to the zoo, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame saw Barenaked Ladies concert there for free. Science Center and lots more. It was a great little vacation!

5 more don’ts : don’t travel around the east sid at night . Don’t go to anywhere Newburgh heights Don’t walk around downtown at night (you’ll get asked for money everywhere) Don’t drive down alleyways at night Don’t interrupt the flow of traffic
@sadjamie51872 жыл бұрын
Only probably with Newburgh is the police but I drive thru all the time no problems also live on east side so driving at night is usually not a problem either

Also, don't make a joke about how the lake caught on fire. That's the only thing that will really, I guess annoy us the most. The mistake on the lake doesn't bother me, I just laugh it off. Born and raised here 5 minute walk from my house from where he was filming!

Been there for a few days with my sleepaway camp and had fun. This time will spend more time there and will drive in so it should be awesome!

There’s some beautiful beaches along Lake Erie! My favorites are west of Cleveland in Avon Lake (Veteran’s Memorial Park) and in Vermillion. Especially if you’re driving to Sandusky, definitely stop and check them out.

Hey man I’ve seen a lot of your videos. I live here and you nailed it. Thanks for the great review. You did butcher Cuyahoga but that’s no biggie. Dude you been all over the world. To say these nice things about our little patch of the world was really nice to hear. Specially talking about the Clevelander. We are nice people and very welcoming. If your from out of town and one of us finds out your in for a conversation that’s for sure. So many bad things people say about our city. Guess what we really don’t care about that. We know it’s home and we love it. Thanks bro.

I lived in Cleveland in the '70's. Fabulous museum, the best orchestra in the world, some of the most interesting people I ever met, hideous weather, and I got mugged twice.

We ❤️ our city! Thanks for showcasing all of the wonderful things we have here in beautiful Cleveland, Ohio! Oh and by the way, that 35 mph curve in the highway is commonly referred to by the locals as Dead Man’s Curve so, yes-please heed the warnings and definitely slow down! 😊

Lived in Chicago for 15 years before I moved to Cleveland. Absolutely without a doubt, Cleveland is now my home for life!! Love the people and the sports teams even more. And if you love to fish, lake erie produces big walleye and steelhead trout in the fall/winter/spring!!

Cleveland has the largest theater district in the U.S., second only to NYC. We have the largest outdoor chandelier in the U.S. The Cleveland Orchestra is world renowned, performs in the opulent Severance Hall in University Circle. Speaking of University Circle, home of the Cleveland Museum of Art-spectacular! Free outdoor concerts every Wednesday at Wade Oval. Little Italy is just around the corner. A few blocks down, world renown Cleveland Clinic. Downtown has some of the BEST steakhouses and raw bars, namely, The Marbleroom and Red Steakhouse. 4th Street is an everyday Festival. The architecture of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is one of a kind, glass pyramid in the front. We have The Flats Entertainment area and Ohio City, both with outstanding restaurants, parks, music venues and swanky hotels. The Euclid/Superior Arcade is the first indoor shopping mall in the U.S. Karamu House is the first and oldest African American theater house in the U.S. One of the reasons why Cleveland has so many opulent places is because the Rockefellers and other iconic wealthy families lived here and developed the area. It’s soooo much to do here and see, especially in summer.

As a world traveler, I think many Clevelanders dont realize how good they have it. The violent crime is concentrated in very specific parts of the city. Cleveland literally has everything that Chicago has for half the price. Music, arts, sports, world-class museums and nature preserves. Also, some of the friendliest people in the entire nation.

That 35 mph curve on the highway is called Dead Man's Curve for a reason! Great video. I've enjoyed your videos from Europe for a while now. I was surprised to see you in my hometown. I had no idea you could spend the night in the Christmas Story House, but good choice eating at the Rowley Inn across the street.

As a lifer here in the Cleveland area and all around the east side, you gave good advice. There are a few things like Chagrin Falls, Cleveland Hts (Coventry area) and Mentor Headlands Beach or Fairport Harbor. Oh yeah if your end up in the Coventry area just head down the hill on Mayfield Road and you will end up in Little Italy, great food there.

It is a completely underrated City I've been to most of the cities in the Midwest and I tell you what I would choose Cleveland over most of the Cities including Philadelphia Pittsburgh Buffalo Chicago Detroit Cincinnati Indianapolis Boston I've had better food and had better times and met more friendly people in Cleveland than any other City especially the ones I just named!
@mayavenuemisfit814 Жыл бұрын
Cleveland would be in my top five, but not at the top of my list. 1. Cincinnati 2. Pittsburgh 3. Detroit 4. Buffalo 5. Cleveland This is just based on my personal experiences and interactions with the locals in those cities. Then again, I'm biased because I lived in the top two cities on my list and had a lot of fun and good times in both of them.
