One thing about Bob Costas is that he takes the time (amidst what has to be a really busy schedule) to do things like contact you to thank you for posting this interview. I remember reading a story about how that (forgive me if I'm not entirely accurate on this), earlier in his career, he spent a few days with the Toledo Mud Hens, took batting practice, coached first base, and called a couple of games. And he is a tremendous interviewer. The man has a mind like a steel trap. It was nice to hear him recently call the Indians (Guardians) v Yankees postseason matchup. It was a treat to hear one of the all-time greats in his natural element.

Bob is a class act. A baseball man to the bone. You are spot on with your assessment. They would shoot two weeks of episodes over one weekend. 4 Saturday and 4 Sunday...can you imagine prepping for those...makes the quality of his interviews overall even more impressive.
