@doubtfulguest54504 жыл бұрын
The paranoia over our.. _providers_ is just but misplaced. It's ok - memories are little more than bursts of electricity to most of us, even with multimillion dollar equipment. Your memories are safe for now. We'll get there tho; we'll translate transduction and create powerful handheld MRIs and then, not just your memories but also all of your current thoughts will be up for grabs. But that's a long way away and the species will probably die before we reach that moralistic hellscape of progression. At least the portable part. With the right algorithms and equipment, the smartest of us are edging closer and closer to 'mind reading..' But hey, it's easy to beat MRI's anyway - they rely on you staying perfectly still. Perfectly still like 'don't move your tongue' perfectly still. Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and -you're dead- you'll mess up the reading a little bit. So I guess just make sure that your grandchildren know to shake their heads about if google ever kidnap them and try to read their thoughts with MRI and it'll be ok. I hope that I helped to calm any fears that anyone might've been having about a coincidence having been something more nefarious, by explaining that we're basically just waiting on the engineers to wake up and do some work and the nefarious option will be a genuine possibility.
