This is the traditional cremation ceremony of Isan, North Easthern of Thailand. To cut the log wrapped by the rope above the coffin and the death means to break off the relation between the death and the man and to separate their world. They both were in a relationship when a woman still alived. Isan people believe that this rite can send the soul of a woman to die peacefully without any concerns. Nowadays, this ceremony is hard to find. The film maker wants to remind this ceremony then decided to include these rare scenes in the movie.

Well explanation for foreigner to understand the movie and Thai 's cultures.
โอยฟังแล้วร้องตาม ภาษาอังกฤษก็แปลได้สวยงาม ความหมายได้เหมือนภาษาไทยเป๊ะ The Thai lyrics is so sad as well as the translated version. They are so touching.
-The first scene, where the white rope is cut. It is a ceremony to cut ties between people who love each other so that there are no worries. To let the dead rest in peace As for the people who are still alive Continue to live a good life. -The next scene involves drawing a knife on the ground. to divide space Between the living and the dead, separated from each other, different worlds, different lives. -The next scene, where a man walks through a white thread with a leaf in his mouth, is a ritual to meet the spirit of the dead. which is the belief of Thai people (the main character of the story is trying to curb time to be with his lover) -The coffin-knocking scene is a call to the dead. This scene is intended to teach people that when they are still alive, Take care of each other well. Don't love or take care of each other when you're dead. Because the dead can no longer know anything.
The cutting of wood and white thread at the beginning of the clip is a ceremony to cut ties between the dead and the living family members. Most of which are lovers, fathers, mothers, etc. In the clip, there is a man in a striped shirt. It was the ex-boyfriend of the dead woman. Thank you for reaction to Isaan folk songs of Thailand.❤❤

This movie It is a very good movie that presents the way of life of the Isaan people in Thailand.
"Yuea" means to hold on, not wanting to lose or leave. Sappheror is the name of this movie. This word in Thai refers to a person who has a career dealing with corpses. Both physical and religious rituals. This film wants to convey the story of this profession and the feelings of people who have lost a loved one but cannot accept it or do not want to accept it either. Conveyed from the perspective of people in different situations. Some people try to hold back their feelings because they can't move on. While the other side conveys the perspective of the person who has passed away that the only thing he wants is for the person who is still alive to continue living a happy and meaningful life. Thai Ban refers to the people of Isaan (people of the northeastern region). This movie is set in the Thai Ban universe. Because this universe tells about a group of people in the northeastern region of Thailand. which has been made into several previous series and movies.

What you see in the video Such as cutting the sacred thread from the coffin tied to the man's wrist. It means to cut off from each other. Sever ties between the world of the dead and the living. And the knife cutting into the ground probably means dividing the world of the dead and the living. I'm guessing because this is a belief in the Northeast. The part where the man is seen holding a betel leaf in his hand is the belief that by performing this ceremony, you will be able to contact people who have died.
In the movie, he graduated from law school and became a lawyer. His father was an undertaker. But his father is sick with cancer. So he decided Returned home to help father. Even though Jao is a person who is very afraid of ghosts. He had to study the course of being an undertaker. Learn to perform rituals and recite mantras. He saw death every day. Separation from loved ones, parents, children, lovers, and in the end he came to do the funeral of his own father. It has Buddhist morals. Hidden in this movie, no one can escape death. Live in the present Do your best.
To Clevy, I loss my wife to cancer in Thailand on the 8th of last October and I’m still can’t believe she is physically not here with me after we’ve been together for 24 years. I got to see this movie after she had passed.it’s made it harder for me but it was great movie.Even you don’t understand Thai but I love your empathy. Like what the Father said in the movie “ Let the Dead to be our teacher’
He was her Ex boyfriend who still stuck his emotional toward her eventhrough she'd passed away..So this ritual apply for cut off and accepted for her passed away..we belive for allowing and accepting nature of life cycle..lost and Bereavement Bereavement, it can happen to us but how we may be faced with it differently..may be something that important to accept and understand for let our beloved spiritual go to heaven peaceful and don't worry anything...love you,too from Thailand ❤❤
This song is about the traditional funeral rituals of the Isan people and Buddhism. It teaches that everyone is indebted to death. It's a matter of how quickly or slowly you live. Let you spend your life with the people you love very much and Do what you want to make you happy, but when you die, you can't take anything with you. Even though you were born, you can't even take your body with you. Or what you created, you die. You can't take it with you, but the only thing you can take with you is the goodness you've created. You can only take away with you. Death hurts everyone.
This song is a soundtrack for a Thai movie. (In the northeastern part of Thailand) The first man was sad and thinking about his ex-girlfriend who had passed away. When a dead person is cremated There must be a ceremony to sever the relationship. so that those who die may follow their own paths That man still loves her. And tried many ways to see her again (ghost). As for the boy, his father worked as an undertaker. When his father was seriously ill So he came to work instead. But his father died. Without saying goodbye yet, he and the first man worked together to find a way to communicate with their loved ones again, and now this movie Generate income of approximately 700 million Thai baht In a period of less than 1 month It is a movie made from a issan (northeastern in Thailand , with a small budget, but is very popular in Thailand now.) sorry if some words it’s wrong haha i try to explain to you but my English is not so good 😂 I like your reaction about Thailand ❤ i hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy every clip about Thailand 🎉
It is to cut off the relationship. Because People who love each other very much, when they die, they must cut off the relationship so that the soul of the person who has died will be able to rest in a good place without having to worry. So that they will not have to die together. I know that. Because I am Thai.สวัสดีครับ....
Hi Clevy, Thank you for your reaction on this one. Wow your emotion is so pure and genuine. So beautiful 😻 The song title literally says “prolong” it’s about the grief of losing the loved ones. The song reminds us of the death that we all have to face. People nowadays ignore or don’t pay much attention to the people closest to us and focus on other things, achievements, etc. Or taking the loved ones for granted. But when they pass, all the regrets , shames , come forefront. This song is a reminder to be mindful in life and live with compassion towards one another. Because when the time comes it can be unexpectedly. Nobody knows when. And you can’t stop the time! You can’t “prolong” the time. You can’t borrow the 4:55 time. 😢 In the beginning of the video you see a guy crying because his beloved one was dead. He loved her truly but she didn’t love him when she was alive. Later he tried to do everything to cross over to meet her on the other side. But she still rejected him. The beginning of the video is the Thai traditional cremation. Where the closest people , family members of the late girl have to cut cords. So that she can cross over and they will be able to move on. In the video the bf couldn’t cut cords as he couldn’t let go. Hope this makes sense to you ❤

Oh yes it makes a lot of sense now 🥺 thanks you so much 🙏
I am Thai, so I want to tell you the meaning of cutting that white thread in the traditional Thai funeral ritual. Cutting that white thread means cutting the tie between the dead and the living., since now the two are in the different world. One still has to go on living and another is no longer on this earth. That way, both souls are free from each other.
