Because that would be equal to the bail amount he has now. Cash surety means he has to come up with the entire 250k in cash, not 10% of it. The only reason the judge can’t give him no bail is because he hasn’t been charged with the actual crime yet.

To my understanding, if you heard what he is being held for is lying to peace officer, not murder. The judge issued a cash bond, which means the defendant has to pay the full amount. If you look up the bond guidelines 250,000 falls well within that preview of the charges.
