I never would’ve been a Metallica fan had I not picked up the bass, it was after I started playing bass that I learned about cliff through anesthesia pulling teeth

I don't know how true this is, but at least on spotify it says that the city that listens to Metallica the most is Mexico City. Just goes to show how their work crossed borders and barriers.

loved this guy and his bass playin. Met him at the Metal Hammer Loreley Festival (ok, there had been a fence between us) in Germany Sept. 14 th in 85 and he was the only Rock star ever that signed my ticket. One year later he died with this bus crash in Sweden or wherever it was. Hell, I felt guilty somehow and never ever asked for my ticket to be signed by anyone else. Since that day he lives on in my mind . . . forever !

Hate to pee on your bonfire, but that is not the crash location. This road is the 557. The road they were travelling on was the E4 highway, about a couple of miles south east of the memorial stone. There is no reason for the tour bus to have gone down this road.

Jonny Davies That road was E4 highway at that time, The road E4 of today was built a coupe of years later. the exact location of the accident is 300 meters to the south of the Cliff Burton momorial stone, on the other side of the road.

I really do respect that they're people there from Mexico ( & other countries too ) but did they have to display a Mexican Flag there ? Cliff Burton is & was American.
