How do you get more food in the game. I have played for about three days now and no matter the number of crops I put the food icon blinks constantly. I have ports setup and I guess I did the numbers right but still nothing.

In case anyone else is still stuck, the farms need water. And you need drones to pick up the water and food. Those tend to be low priority. So bump up the priority. They fill up quite fast so shouldn't affect the city's efficiency. As you get more people, you will start to need more than 50 food. And the game will only register it as available if it's in storage. So make sure to build enough storage. Not sure if any of that was the issue, but worth checking out.
