Grew up with this music, then the Beatles. Truly a great period. So much good stuff on Cliff and Shads early albums. Then he went middle of the road and became a so called "family entertainer." The original Shadows were excellent, Jet on bass Tony Meehan on drums. The sound was out of this world. As I understand it Hank got a Meazzi echo unit from Joe Brown and a Stratocaster via Cliff, who had to import it into this country. Much prefer this early Cliff and Shads to anything later really.Great rock and roll stuff pre Beatles. Thanks for posting.

My 1st album, in early 60's, then the Beatles, TJ, BGees, R. Stones coming fr. the States, but I remained a die-hard Cliff Richard fan.(Phils)

The Evergreen Tree, Cliff once said that this song is a hit in Asia/Far East & may I add in the Philippines, it is very popular here. Cliff is very popular here esp. in the pre-Beatles & TJ era because we were flooded by these 2 coming fr. the US. TJ has even a TV show, but I remained a Cliff fan even now that's it's already 2021.

I used to have a copy of the original album. There used to be a lovely acoustic guitar solo at around 30 minutes? All the re-releases have omitted this solo! Can somebody post a copy of the original recording with the guitar solo?

That version is on the mono version of the LP. The acoustic was overdubbed onto the basic track which can be heard on the stereo LP. About 4 of the songs feature totally different recordings on the stereo and mono versions, Choppin' n Changin' being noticeably different. The mono version can be heard here kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4GxfHuZnbuqfJI
