I met Cliff for the first time on his first tour to SouthAfrica in 1961, and I sang A Voice In The Wilderness for him! I then met him again in 2010 , 50 years later and got him to sign the photo from our first meeting! In 2019 my band played 2 Cliff and Shads sold out tribute shows and raised a lot of money for cancer associations ! What a down to earth and fabulous human being he is . A great talent with a great voice!pity he never could really crack the American market really big.

@@jjjedizionimusicali I was only 13 the first time I met Cliff and had stared singing with my band earlier that year. Cliff , The Beatles, Elvis , Rolling Stones etc were the craze. I still sing today at gigs and always include my above idols’ songs which still go down so well. I’m using backing tracks now but there’s nothing like singing with a live ba

It still amazes me how technically excellent the Cliff Richard and The Shadows recordings were done at the Abbey Road Studios in 1958-1962, especially when compared to the early British Invasion recordings in 1963-65.

These are the mono versions, not a bad track amongst them either. Their best LP to my mind and 2 or so years before some group from the north apparently had the first LP of original songs.... Hmm.. They also seem to ignore 'Sound of Fury' too, all self written and fantastic songs...
