I think I was 6 or 7 years old when my uncle and I were listening to our big radio back in Manila Philippines and Cliff Richard was singing The Young Ones and Constantly. He has stated publicly many times that the Bible says that sex outside of marriage is wrong. Also, he has stated he wasn’t gay. He also stated that he held marriage in high regard as the Bible does and if he ever did get married it would be for life and that he would need to devote less time to his work in that situation. I think the poor guy just got tired of the same questions over and over again snd really, what business is someone’s personal life, even if they are in the public eye?!? Wonderful Person......I grew up on 'travelin light' dynamite, bachelor boy, 'the next time' and what not that this great singer is all about.....I was born march1961.....my dad was in love with Cliff by then and we had many of his singles to start our own collection from 1969 owards for a mono record-player Dad bought on instalments then....til then we hear him n the radio and at friends' gramophones. My older sister was friends with one of Cliff’s sisters they went to the same school in the 1950s. My family had a similar background to Cliff’s family - in that my family had to leave Egypt after the Suez crisis in 1956 and move to England (Cliff’s family lived in India and he was born there, my sister was born in Egypt). My sister would go over to their house and Cliff would be playing guitar in his bedroom - she had a massive crush on him “he was gorgeous”. She loved living in England and hated it when my family moved to Australia in 1959 - to this day she still talks about Cliff and his family. My sister is 76 now and still sings and does the cha cha to ‘Maria No Mas’ she loves it. Cliff has Spanish heritage my family has Italian heritage - my dad was a British Subject. Anyway think I will call her and hear her wonderful stories again. ❤️

Cliff, in my humble opinion, the best singer that ever came from across the pond. I am a Canadian, who has always been a fan of Cliff's since I heard his first recording. I think of Elvis as my favourite Rock n' Roller with Ricky Nelson #2... I wrote 5 beautiful songs to be( tilted) his way many years back. His label and management team wouldn’t shell out for the prepared airlines and accommodation request to talk business in London. Soon after, they agreed to meet me in LA after his tv performance on solid gold ,performing “devil woman”. His reps at the meeting we’re all terribly sick with the flu. Nothing was gained that day. I gave up after that since I didn’t wanna chase these guys all around the planet.
