Opeth is a HUGE influence, both vocally and musically for the band.

Probably mostly for the composition of the songs. Eugene is hugely influenced by Ryan Martinie from Mudvayne. Tatiana has many influences, like Gwen Stefani (No Doubt era), Amy Winehouse, Guano Apes, Bob Marley, and more. Her harsh vocals are mostly influenced by Randy Blythe from Lamb of God.

I would love to see you dive into the different metal genres. Outside of the “mainstream” (Metallica, Slipknot, etc.) some of the more extreme metal bands are IMO the most underrated and under appreciated musicians in all of music. There’s a great documentary called Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey that breaks down all of the different types of metal and where they came from.

Rock started having its death throes in '10, I feel like. Jinjer is hopefully the start of a new, wonderful age of rock...if Jack White hadn't been around, it would have died completely. He held the whole genre together for almost ten years, thank God he's got some help again!!

They have a lot of influences. I feel like in Ukraine they may not identify with a cultural musical lane the way Americans do, or at least the individuals who became part of this band didn't. They love a massive spectrum of genres. The key influences in this song seem to be Alice In Chains, both musically and vocally. If you aren't familiar with their work, I'd suggest especially Would, Rooster, and Man In The Box. Also Tati did featured vocals on Suicide Silence's cover of Man In The Box which is very good - if you want to check it out either for your own enjoyment or as a reaction, I'd review the original first.

i don't think you can really label jinjer. but for me, they reminds me a lot like mid to late 90's nu metal. especially in their current form with vlad on drums. their earlier stuff was heavy. but now, it seems like they have evolved into a more groovy sounding band.

The band was formed in Finland in 1996 and plays primarily symphonic metal. You'll be hearing the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the backing track. This song is one of their lighter offerings as some of their music can be quite heavy. No two songs are the same. Their third and current lead singer is Floor Jansen from the Netherlands. She joined them in 2012 mid tour after the band parted ways with their previous singer. Floor can range from death growls to opera and everything in between. She is a powerhouse of a singer with quite literally a giant stage presence. When you react to Nightwish, be prepared to be invaded by the Nightwish Army. You like Jinjer so how about Arch Enemy? They're a Swedish melodic death metal band with a Canadian lead singer Alissa White-Gluz. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3ncg4lqftODftk "Nemesis" performed at Oberhausen 2019. Think Tatiana with blue hair. Alissa also has a lovely clean soprano voice which we get to hear on occasion.
