Eivør has a bunch of us that follow this track across all music reaction channels as we love seeing people just fall into that trance while they listen to this song much as we did when we heard it first. Trodlabundin, Gullspunnin, both amazing, for that same trance like impact, I'd watch Truth live from studio bloch. Eivør is a musical wonder and noone of us understand why she's so underrated, she should be known for all four corners of the earth, and great to hear faeroese every so often!

Eivør has a really unique gift, and as such it's unfair in a way to reduce her to comparisons with other artists, but when her voice soars high and loud she gives me a Kate Bush vibe, but when she goes low and whispery some of her spoken phrasing is more reminiscent of Bjork. I mean both of those as high praise, but Eivør is much, much more than just that.

It's always fun to see people getting their minds blown by Eivor (pronounced I-vor). She is from the Faroe Islands (halfway between Norway and Iceland) and has a background in traditional folk and classical music but does all kinds these days. You weren't wrong about her doing Soundtracks, together with John Lunn she wrote the music to the TV show The Last Kingdom, which is how I discovered her. That soundtrack is well worth checking out. If you're looking for something to react to Trøllabundin is super popular and shows off her traditional roots, if you're looking for something more modern my favourite tune is "Salt".

@@jonathanc8560 they just wrapped season 5. But that is going to be the final one. On one hand it's pretty sad on the other hand, I can understand that a show like that, esp with how international the cast is with a pandemic is super difficult to do. And many actors like Eliza and Alex have been at it for such a long time, they probably want to do other stuff as well at some point. But yeah, best show out there at the moment, in my opinion.

Other artists that deserve wat more love, and I always suggest are Niels Frevert (Putzlicht, Immer Noch Die Musik, Als könnte man die Sterne berühren, great songs for his last album) and Lisa Who (Er hat mich wieder nicht gesehen, or Leichtigkeit, Das Rauschen in mir, Ich komme mit, ich bin dabei). Coming from a hard rock and heavy/power metalhead, Eivor is one of my favourite non-metal artists. She is one of kind, and her unique style of singing blows me away every time I listen to her stuff. She is from the Faroe(pronounced like pharaoh)Islands, and she also writes songs in her native Faroese language. I highly recommend reacting to her song Trodlabundin live. The name translates to "Spellbound" in English, and the song is about being spellbound by a wizard. Her vocals will steal your soul in this performance, and to top it off, it's set in the mountains of Norway on a lakeside. Link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/raTPXn5-fMpngc0

I see there are quite a few suggestions as to what to react to next, but I can't see anyone mentioning one of MY very favorites, namely her song Mjørkaflókar. It's hauntingly beautiful and I'd be extremely happy if you'd find the time to check it out. You being a songwriter, I'm pretty sure you'll love the lyrics too. Here's the link, with Icelandic subtitles so that you can appreciate the beautiful written language as well : m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4uzg2Rre9Gam9U&start_radio=1 Here's even the translation of it if you or anyone else is interested : Fog Banks Fog banks are lying like a fluffy duvet over the village you stand by the window and gaze out towards the foggy dale Grey out over grey hidden is everything that was green and blue the high mountains are cocooned in high fog Your eyes are distant as though they see something no one else sees I had wished I could see through your eyes your reality Grey out over grey hidden is everything that was green and blue the high mountains are cocooned in high fog You never felt so far away as you do now but I saw you through the openings between the raindrops Anyhow, loving your reactions Cliff.
