Cliff jumper and Jetfire were the best combo in my opinion; you could do a lot with their extra bits to make the end result more passable. With Jetfire as the shirt, the thrusters in the back looked ok, and you can fold cliffjumpers shoulders under jetfire's arms, pointing forward, for some Freedom Gundam style cannons.

Overdrive/Cliffjumper was one of the Energon core five team and partner-half of Skyfire/Jetfire. After a rift about Unicron, Cliffjumper joined the Rodimus faction. Roadbuster/Ironhide would be promoted in his place. That was the initial plot, changed along with Highwire upgraded into a Transformers Autobot after surviving the Minicons abduction by Alpha Q to stem cell Unicron. Primus resurrected Highwire was meant to be the partner-bodyguard of Kicker aka the Conduit. Instead they made Ironhide Kicker's sidekick.

Mechanical Whale Productions Prime Cliffjumper is far from a repaint and they killed him off cuz his voice was Dwayne Johnson, quite expensive for a series regularly airing

Most energon combo are pretty bad, but cliff jumper as pants mode is pretty decent IMO. I liked to imagine the "butt backpack" (fanny pack?) used the wheels to push him along to make him faster

It's very much you love it or you hate it. Speaking from personal experience, some of the Energon figures were actually kinda fun. Yeah, the overall quality and playability of the indivdual figures did suffer a bit(and in some places a lot) due to the gimmick, but said gimmick also resulted in a cumulatively greater number of play options the more you bought, and that is a viable market strategy.

I've had Cliffjumper for god knows how long, and I only learned today it could transform like that! I took it out from a drawer I have it in, and wondered what those green things on the legs are for. Didn't remember the name of thid transformer so used Google lens to find it, then stumbled upon this video and was kinda floored XD

Or the obvious Wheeljack-homage character being named "Downshift", because they'd already used the name for someone else in Armada. And then he spends most of the series being called Cliffjumper anyway. Energon was fun like that.

Probably just need the spring and tab adjusted before putting in fresh batteries. All too often employees will play with them before sending them out. I did some digging. Also where it was stored beforehand might have sapped the electronics. I used to work for Tesla

Not sure what I think of this one. If I could pick it up for the actual price it retailed at when it was current I would probably consider it but I wouldn't pay collector prices for it. The colour is just . . . wtf? How is that cliffjumper? The Beachcomber version makes a LOT more sense. I always find myself thinking that this whole line would have been so much better without the combining thing.
