Mountain soul is a spot on descripter of this style. My life has moved far from the poignancy and raw timeless emotion in this mans music. Junk and clutter are my mental roomates.

Mountain soul. ...sounds really interesting ..descriptive terminology ..heartfelt. Hope to look more into this style of music also like your words of ancient sound...times of past old ways. Hope I just made sense with that comment

@CliftonHicksbanjo3 жыл бұрын
That was a really neat banjo. Hand wrought iron hardware on a wood block rim--I suspect the hardware at least was pre-1870. Carved the neck myself out of black walnut. This was the only video I ever made of it before selling the banjo.
@MusicGeekmcgrath3 жыл бұрын
@@CliftonHicksbanjo Wow thats really cool how long does it normally take you to carve a neck I know there it must be quiet a bit of restoring old banjos and bringing them back to there glory

There was a far older version you posted correct? It was indoors and the camera would shake at points in video ,can't seem to find it on your channel anymore . Understand you pulled it for a reason if so but as a fan....all the best regardless.
@veroldaley14 жыл бұрын
That’s a heck of a good sounding frettless banjo , is it the age of the banjo why it’s tuned to 432hz as oppose to 440hz. Thank you sir for another fine tune
@tamaraparris1589 Жыл бұрын
Tuning your instrument to 432 hz as opposed to 440 hz provides natural tones. Example: if I hold up my tuner to a bird singing, the tuner will register notes in 432 hz, because this is the frequency of the earth. Standard concert tuning was changed to 440 hz by some grumpy dudes in the 1940’s that wanted to control everything and create chaos. Have fun going down that rabbit hole 😂
