The thing is there is a logical flaw in this vid: An individual does not create much of a carbon footprint that is within their ability to manage. (as mentioned in 1:58 ) The things that are out of their ability to manage is such things like buying a E-car to reduce carbon footprint but we can't choose the resources needed to make them which creates a carbon footprint. Can we choose renewable energy the electricity companies give us? Can we choose the type of plastic companies use for our bottles? Yes an individual can cut down their carbon footprint but such effort is in vain if a company is producing a thousand times that, which begs the question; should we be focusing on changing how companies source things rather than an individuals carbon footprint?

I converted a council house as part of CLG's retrofit for the future in 2015. I installed air source heat pumps and solar thermal. There was some massive problems: 1. The heat pumps were noisy and bulky. 2. You need to fit a hot water boiler, where if your house is small? 3. The heat when you want it is not responsive as gas heating so you need to plan when you want to be warm. 4. Heat pumps , ground or air, only work effectively if the property is totally insulated and virtually air tight. I had to fit 100mm thermal insulation to all internal walls. 5. Double glazing wasn't effective. I needed triple K glass 6. The control device is complicated and needs summer/winter timing programs 7. I also fitted solar panels, but the roof was not new/strong enough to support the panels and needed to be replaced. 8. I wanted ground source heat pumps but you need to bury several large coils 10ft into the ground/garden. 9. Take up the floor and isolate every joist from the brickwork Total cost £143k After 12 months with a tenant the heat pump had to be removed as they couldn't work it properly. All in all its sounds a good idea for middle/high income earners but your average tenant in a 1940's semi will never be able to have it.

The BBC need to cover the second part of this global plan to combat climate change. Its not just about reducing carbon emissions. But also removing the carbon that's still trapped in the atmosphere. Both plans must happen simultaneously in order to get the best outcome. With soo much of the rainforests and reefs disappearing there is not enough green to absorb it all before it causes too much damage to the ice caps and so forth. We can regrow trees, but rebuilding entire forests cut down after years of desolation will take time. Time we don't have. So what I believe is being done by a few scientist and engineers, is the research and construction of technology that can absorb the carbon in the atmosphere on the same level as trees would. I've even seen ideas for artificial trees that look like lamp posts but behave as trees do. Look it up people!

If both the EU plus the UK emissions are just 7.5%, then what is Britain's emissions. Are our emissions lower than 3% as Germany has a bigger manufacturing base. Why is it such a big deal in the UK, rather than hitting the big polluters, like China, India and the US. Pollution of the seas is corporate dumping of plastic and not people discarding the odd plastic bottle.

China is currently the country with the largest carbon emissions in the world, accounting for about 30% to 45% of the world’s carbon emissions. China’s largest carbon emission industry is the power generation industry (mainly thermal power generation with cheap coal), which accounts for about 40% of Chinese carbon emissions. What adds up to china's carbon emission is the large fleet of cargo ships and airplanes China uses to export its goods. Ships run on cheap heavy oil and add another 5% Carbon dioxide Almost all of these ships run on fossil fuels, so they emit a lot of carbon pollution. Maritime shipping causes about 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions - even more than airplanes. It appears ridiculous to go carbon free in Europe.

Climate change will end and be reversed naturally long before the western democracies build out the infrastructure to support electrical vehicles. 1. Carbon emissions are directly proportional to population. The population collapse has already started in Europe, Japan, Russia, and China. By 2035 the world's industrial population will be cut in half and carbon emissions with it. 2. All of the western democracies, have not only flatlined their carbon emissions for 10 years but most have made significant reductions. But despite the above China is now the largest producer of atmospheric carbon and they are building coal fired electrical plants to produce the electricity for their electrical vehicles. China now produces 13,000 million metric tonnes of Carbon each year and increasing exponentially - more than double that of the no. 2 producer USA which produces 5,000 metric tonnes and is flatlined Why are we bankrupting the Western Democracies to make room for China to produce more Carbon. There is nothing we can do within the G20 countries that can impact Climate change when China produces as much Carbon as all G20 nations combined. If we really want to impact climate change then Europe, Canada and the USA need to introduce massive trade sanctions against China until China demonstrates that it is part of the worldwide community.

"The common enemy of humanity is Man. In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together. But in designating these dangers as the enemy, we fall into the trap, which we have already warned readers about, namely mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention In natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself." I learned in grade 8 that nature has a way of balancing carbon and oxygen within our atmosphere. That is to say, a balance between the HUMAN SPECIES carbon "foot print" and the oxygen "foot print" of PLANTS and TREES. Perhaps we need to think twice before we cut down trees instead of worrying about our carbon foot print? Furthermore, I also learned in grade 7 that the human body is 18% carbon!!! Then I began to think about it and began to wonder if the goal of the WEF, to eliminate humanity and replace them with AI? Perhaps Bill Gates knows more about this!! That's what fossil fuels business wants for people to debate next 100 years about this so that they can sell oil and gas and earn ton off money in the mean time. We are debating about this 40 years now. Why don't we for a change reduce CO2 to 0% and than we can debate about this? Oil and gas won't go away anywhere, they will stay in the ground for next million years if it's necessary .

@@klokoloko2114 - oil will run out in around 100 years and need to be replaced before then. Sure we can reduce CO2 down to zero, but we’d have a living standard of the 1850’s. If you think to do this tomorow than this is true but slow reduction of 3-5% per year in next 30 years is doable. We have today 50% electricity produced without CO2 from nuclear, hydro, wind, solar, geothermal etc, we just to scale those up to 100%. Second we have electric vehicles revolution right now. Third, we can reduce our heating need in winter by much higher standards of thermal insulation of buildings and windows. This is 85% of all CO2 reduction.

Edmund Contoski, an environmental consultant for more than 40 countries writes: “The overwhelming majority (97%) of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere comes from nature, not from man.” Based on scientific data, “Not only are worms contributing to the CO2 in the atmosphere,” Contoski further notes that, “volcanoes, swamps, rice paddies, fallen leaves, and even insects and bacteria alone emit ten times more carbon dioxide than all the factories and automobiles in the world. Even natural wetlands emit more greenhouse gases than all human activities combined.”

0:27 wrong green house gases regulate heat on earth, we can actively see this in terrains with a low percentage of the green house gas h2o and high percentage of it. The two terrains are forests and deserts. Forests has a more consistent temperature then deserts who have lower levels of h2o therefore proving that greenhouse gases don't increase but stabilize temperature which is exactly what the definition of green house gas is.
