The fifth annual Climate Forward conference, sponsored by USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability and USC Dornsife Center for the Political Future (CPF) in collaboration with POLITICO, was held at USC Town and Gown on Thursday, April 4, 2024. This conference focuses on finding practical solutions to climate change and identifying the political obstacles to implementing those changes. This year's conference theme was "Climate at the Crossroads," and explored policy from the past that informs the climate policy of the future and what happens after the election as the country heads towards 2024 and beyond.
The conference began with welcome remarks from Joe Árvai, USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability Director, and USC Dornsife Dean Amber D. Miller. Following these remarks was a keynote by Neera Tanden, Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to President Biden.
The first panel, "A Lot Done; A Lot More To Do," featured CPF Director Bob Shrum in conversation with Neera Tanden, Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to President Biden, on climate policy in the Biden-Harris Administration, the ClimateCorps, and practical solutions to climate change.
