Carbon nation is an optimistic, solutions-based, non-preachy, non-partisan, big tent film that shows tackling climate change boosts the economy, increases national & energy security and promotes health & a clean environment.
-
Carbon Nation is a feature length documentary about climate change SOLUTIONS. Even if you doubt the severity of the impact of climate change or just don't buy it at all, this is a compelling and relevant film that illustrates how SOLUTIONS to climate change also address other social, economic and national security issues. 'Carbon Nation' is an optimistic discovery of what people are already doing, what we as a nation could be doing and what the world needs to do to prevent (or slow down) the impending climate crisis.

People need to stop calling addressing climate chance as an opportunity. Opportunities can be ignored, opportunities are choice based...you can take advantage of an opportunity or allow it to pass you by...addressing climate change is a responsibility.... responsibilities can not be ignored. Responsibilities are to be acted upon Human have a responsibility to deal with climate change...our actions caused it and our lack of action has made it worst than it needed to be....so we now find ourselves backed in to a corner...a situation of our own making...we need to stop the activity that has causes climate change and start focusing on how we are going to deal with the long term effects..by long term I mean generations...and for those humans that see climate change as real but do not believe humans caused it...there is a saying...when struck by an arrow its not immediately important to know where the arrow came from...what's immediately important is to put out the arrow.

Just like opportunities, responsibilities are choices and also can be ignored. Saying something is a responsibility over an opportunity actually sounds worse. Makes it sound like more work where in a world full of greedy ppl saying something is an opportunity is a lot more attractive to ppl that only care about money. So in the end making it sound like an opportunity is the best way to go cuz nobody likes to spend more money or create more work for themselves. I understand what your trying to say just think you you said it wrong. Your basically saying us humans don't really have a choice, climate change is real and MUST/NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH BEFORE ITS TO LATE.

@@elitehacker1416 ok.I see your point…as for dealing with climate change before it’s to late…we’ll it’s later than you think…I really don’t think our technology is going to save from the effects…beside the process of warming the planet is already well underway, and there no way of stopping it…we should be looking at building “lifeboats”…mitigating the effects…but that cost money and require sacrifices by the world wealthiest nations and that not going to happen.

All these and more solutions combined might be enough. If we do nothing...too late. If we do something, there's a chance, hope. The court of public opinion will likely play a large roll. My house has no old light bulbs. All led. Lowering the thermostat one or two degrees. Still using fossil fuels however. I'm optimistic this will change. Not so much as to when. I especially like the green jobs, not jails part of this. People working, especially when they are working not just for a pay check, but also for a cause is a great thing. People feel better and take more pride in themselves and their communities when they earn. Money for nothing is detrimental for people. Great video.

Well if you ACTUALLY had a good grasp on the broad range of the science, then you would know that the scenarios being painted in the video are IMPOSSIBLE, thats a quote from the creators of the climate models this is based on RCP 8.5 , they finally had to face the fact a few years ago that their models are totally wrong and do not conform to the observed data. Its back to the drawing board for them, however the IPCC still uses 8.5 and promotes it as the likely scenario even though its creators announced its useless. When you look at the ACTUAL data its clear temperature , weather, climate while constantly on the move are still totally within normal long term variation.

Its long been known that when volcanoes erupt, the dust in the air can cause weather modification. My personal experience is for a few days last summer, my new solar system took a dive and was making about 10 KW less of power, After checking the wiring, paperwork, I joked it must be in the sky. No joke, that night on the news, smoke from canadian forest fires got in the upper atmosphere and lowered the temp about 10°, according to the news. It was measurable, From my solar tracker It lowered the light meter about 2° from 6 to 4. So if fires can do this why cant people do it? The Earth needs help and we can do it immediately, We dont have to wait for all the changing of life styles that we are trying to do.. If nature can do this , then the danger is minimal, Now it is a question of courage. People argue, dont do it because its too new, Like they told the Wright brothers, men will never fly. College professors are the last people that we should ask about this, We need doers not talkers.

Before you talk to anyone about climate change, pro or con, ask (a) how does heat transfer (3 ways), (b) what are the three thermal metrics for the atmospheric gases (c) what is the ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere and what percentage of that is man-generated, (d) what is the role of CO2 in photosynthesis re plant growth, (e) the past century there has been an average annual global warming of what percentage of a degree C, according to the UN, (f) what are the sources for the statistically flawed 97% consensus, and the equally flawed main refutation? If someone cannot give adequate answers to these basic questions, let alone more difficult ones about climate models, the greenhouse effect and the roles of the ocean and sun then the science has not been looked at. To talk to them, pro or con, is a waste of time. Note that the rare talking heads who can answer these fundamental questions almost always push the agenda of those who fund them.

There is still time if every coal fired power plant is replaced right now asap with molten salt thorium reactor breeder reactors using up all the used fuel rods stored in swimming pools at our nuclear reactors. The process of chopping apart the rods releasing the fuel contents cannot start soon enough as a national policy. 95% of the critical fuel necessary for the start of the molten salt reactors is still readily available. Dr Lyons is a total fool and has no idea we can make these reactors at less than the cost of a super tanker which also need to be powered with the same till soon no longer needed in shipyard factories especially here in America putting Americans to work with the money currently being wasted by the Biden administration to produce America's collapse due to inflation.

In the 1970s scientists were saying there was an approaching ice age, shortly after it was global warming and air pollution would take a hundred years to clear up. Sept 11 2001 was tragic for the US and environmental sciences climate modeling it was three days for air pollution to clears up and just about the same for the twenty-five years for climate temperature to climb two degrees. If science wants to get back the respect and recognition it once had it will need to give full metrics of the previous faulty model and identify the persons and facilities that came up with these faulty models. In laymen's terms if you don't clean up the shit that was laid down, then everybody will continue to believe you're all just piling shit on top of the last pile. Yes, shit is good for the environment unless you need to drink the water or walking in the park.

I haven't watched the whole Doc yet, but the answer is NO. We should have signed onto the Kyoto Accords. Yes, it will hurt the economy worldwide for a time, but that is better than at best, a 1-meter sea level rise by the end of the century (~77 years). And that's a best-case scenario, not counting all the other problems that will possibly happen - mass extinctions on a global scale, major droughts, floods, massive hurricanes - oh, wait, all those things have happened (minus the mass extinctions; but they're coming according to scientists). It's a dismal outlook, but the alternatives are far worse. Many experts say down the road wars will be fought over water. But the tipping point has not come yet, so there is hope - we just have to hold the rich, politicians, and countries accountable.🌍🌎🌏
