Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is a singer from New Zealand. Her father was Maori and her mother was of Irish heritage. She is a great opera star, and has sung in opera houses all over the world. She has made many recordings. She has a beautiful voice. I was privileged to hear her sing in a live concert. She was honored by the queen in 1982 and became Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. She retired from performing in 2017.
