Hi Oli! First time watching your video and I'm very impressed with the way you explain and expressing what you're feeling while hiking, such a positive vibe! Your video has successfully made me feel less homesick as I live abroad now. Oh btw for these "sherpas" specifically in Rinjani, many hikers in Indonesia have told them (and even gave them) shoes but they feel more comfortable wearing flipflops. So, its not that they dont have the money, they are just more used to wearing flipflops

I think Mountain eruption in 1257 not in 1912, before rinjani the name of mountain is Samalas and then after the eruption till now the name of mountain is Rinjani,maybe you can check again in google for detail information when the Samalas eruption 👌☺️
