I liked my visit to Greenland a few weeks ago aboard the Norwegian Star. Only one thing really disappointed me about Greenland, one of my coworker's who was stationed at Thule Air Base many years ago told me to be extremely careful in Greenland. This was because behind every single tree in Greenland regardless of location is a very attractive woman that will kidnap you and have her way with you. When I reached Nuuk, I found no trees. Greenland has no trees.

The colours of the houses have a long tradition; originally they were intended to separate different functions: for example, yellow painted wards/hospitals. Additional information: If you build a house in Grønland, you cannot buy the land underneath, you only get a right of use. The many wooden stairs are incredibly practical in the seasons when there is freezing precipitation - wooden stairs are much easier to master than icy granite. Due to the harsh weather conditions, roads would quickly erode; the longest tarmac road in Greenland is around 35 kilometres long. An incredibly exciting country ❤️

I think we were in Qarqortoq a few days before you, on Celebrity Eclipse! We kept going up past the grocery store and hiked around the lake immediately behind town. It was very muddy, but so beautiful. The people there are so lovely--there is such a beautiful rich culture of life in that very cold environment. It was a lovely (but rainy) day (Celebrity seemed to have a better handle on the tenders--we only ended up waiting about 10 minutes to return to ship). We definitely want to see more. As they say there--takuss (see you later)!

If a cruise line offered a shore excursion(s) that just visits local supermarkets, at every port, my wife would be on EVERY...SINGLE...ONE...OF...THEM!!!!! Comparing products and pricing is her "happy place" at port stops.

We could not get into the town you just visited when we vistied Greenland in Late June of 2023 due to icebergs and chunk ice locking up the harbor....we visited Nannortalik and Nuuk which I am guessing Nuuk will be on upcoming shows.... Is Ilulissat your next port of call? You must absolutely do the iceberg tour if you can. If not, you should try to get to the UNESCO park with board walk. You can get tbere by cab or walking (a bit long). While in Greenland you should try a musk ox burger or even seal stew if you can find it. The bergs calve off tbe Ilulissat Fjord and you might see this happening. They say that the one that sank the Titanic came from there. The burgs float north and can take up to 2 years to hit the US East coast. If your stop is Nuuq, there's a hood hike up the hill to the town, a good tourist centre and also a museum plus shops. Enjoy!
