Is this a good side trip when going to the Grand Canyon?

Hello, yes I think it would be a good side trip, especially since you can see the Grand Canyon from the top.

How long did it take you?

Hi epic save, I think it took me around 4.5 - 5 hours.

@@ZacharyTeich-HikingTrainer you made great time..
@ZacharyTeich-HikingTrainer4 жыл бұрын
@@epicsave635 I jogged a lot on the way down, so that made the overall time a lot faster. Thanks for watching!

A friend and I bagged this one about 40 years ago. No trail back then, just headed uphill. The wind at the top was there, along with the rock wall. Fun to go back by watching your video! Thanks.

Hi dogofthedesert, you're welcome! That's neat that you did it without a trail! It would definitely make it a lot more challenging, and rewarding to finish too. So that wall has been there awhile. It must be constantly windy up there. The views were great and worth it!

Maybe it's a common mistake. It was easy to do in the dim light!

Sweet hike. Very pretty. Crazy winds on top and a beautiful Trail once you got lower. I especially enjoyed the shot of the purple flowers with the birds chirping in the back. I am interested in state highpoints but only have 5 so far. How many are you up to?
@ZacharyTeich-HikingTrainer7 жыл бұрын
Hi Cameron, Thanks, and that was a good hike with great scenery and views, and neat to experience the wind like that. I think I have 7 state highpoints. I would like to do all the ones in the west eventually, but it's not a high priority goal at the moment.

Zachary whats up man! I am planning this bad boy soon. Any big tips?
@ZacharyTeich-HikingTrainer7 жыл бұрын
Hi JT, just be mindful of elevation, so you may have to slow down higher up. Drink plenty of water and have some aspirin in case you get a headache. I was somewhat acclimated, but I still had a headache. If you can get up to Flagstaff early and spend some time at higher elevation before you hike it, that helps. Otherwise the hike isn't too hard.

Ok great! Thanks for the insight I will be sure to do that. I will never complain about more time in Flagstaff. I love that place.

My local trail - I live in Flagstaff. I've been up to that saddle but I didn't make it all the way to the top. I should have brought more food with me. I was out there snowboarding down that slope today.

It's nice that you have that so close to your home. I may try to climb some of the other peaks in the area, and re-climb Humphrey's someday when I get a chance! I'm sure it's beautiful in the snow too.

so it's a 8hr hike roundtrip?
@ZacharyTeich-HikingTrainer7 жыл бұрын
Hi Juan, no, it was four hours round trip for me, approximately. Just depending on your level of fitness and how acclimated you are to altitude, you could be faster or slower. Thanks for viewing!
