CLIMBING MAYAN PYRAMIDS (with no tourists) | Ek Balam

We were told to weave back and forth like a snake while going down to avoid getting vertigo and stepping straight off the pyramid. This was back when you could actually climb up the chitzen Itza. Mid to late 1980's. It was so hot on top that many of us were not even sweating but had beat red faces.

Next time go to Mayapan ! its a "small" chichen itzá, no tourists.

I felt tippy wearing those wonderful exerciser shoes. They tilt you forward so your muscles have to continuously work to keep you upright. I would not be able to climb a pyramid wearing them. At the ball park I had to hold on to the handrails while walking in the aisles. Fast Forward I needed to use Dramamine to keep my balance. a lot of little mishaps and a few falls. Fast forward to the present. Hearing Aids have taken the dizziness away. My brain relearning to hear and now has time to work on balance. Keep on having fun.

Not at all sites. Only at a handful actually. It’s completely allowed at this site.
