Your thumbnail reads "We've destroyed the house" (painful) What did you mean by that? I was so upset for you all but didn't see your home destroyed!
@RaisingVoyagers
@RaisingVoyagers 6 сағат бұрын
The original title was “we’ve destroyed the property”. What we meant by that was the land surrounding the house. It seems a lot of people misunderstood that to mean the home itself, which I can’t imagine why we would destroy the house. But to make it less confusing I’ve changed the title to “we’ve destroyed the land surrounding the stone house”

I’m afraid to say, the title is somewhat misleading! I agree with the folks here who were a bit disappointed about that. I am personally a bit disappointed that these folks all got a standard reply from you justifying the title by saying it is 100% accurate. “We’ve destroyed the property” means you have destroyed the building and/or most of the land - which is clearly not the case. Not that I’m personally that bothered, but remember even when people complain, they still support your channel. Hence, they deserve a reply that doesn’t “insult their intelligence”.

Agree, I expected to see the house torn to shreds. Thank goodness, it’s not. I bet a ton of people thought that… was worded like that deliberately I would think.

By property we meant the land. If we had meant the house we would have said the house. Just like our title “we knocked down part of our house”, where we did. We wouldn’t ever destroy the house. We thought it would be clear we were speaking about the land. Since there still remains confusion we have changed the title to clarify that we were speaking about the land. I’m not sure how my replies have insulated anyone, but that was never my intent.

Why are you installing gas and electricity pipes instead of going for renewables and batteries?
@CarolinaCosta-g3k
@CarolinaCosta-g3k 8 сағат бұрын
That’s an interesting question. They can probably not generate enough electricity with solar, especially not in the darker months of the tear. Not sure if you would be allowed to install a small wind turbine. I was thinking, what about a ground source heat pump? But I don’t know enough about these things to judge that.

Destroyed the property? What does that mean? I was worried that there had been some disaster and was tempted to go to the end of the video to make sure the house was still there. Anyway, great progress and I'm pleased nothing was destroyed. Best wishes. Bob

Lately watching your videos all I can think of is the huge mess you are faced with cleaning up and where it will all go. But when you get to that point you will figure it all out and it will be beautiful. You never seem to get discouraged about anything, but plug along as trials come up. An inspiration to NOT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF! Thanks for sharing.

Brady you are incredible! Such perseverance and still be able to smile with confidence. It is inspiring. Especially your wife's contagious smile. Please show more of your gorgeous and the most breathtaking view. I can't get enough of it. I hope that when you are paving the front of your intriguing home we will be able to see some longer views of the heart warming village below you and at the same time the church Bell's going. Get some thicker work gloves. I don't want to see you injure those creative hands. It would be the best video ever, if you have a party celebration with everyone that has worked, and supported you guys. Keep plowing forward! It will pay off in the long run. Thank you, for taking the extra energy and effort to share with everyone, your perseverance! Take care of yourselves, Kathleen Nansel Rogers

Plant a forest above your house, they would keep falling stones a bit off from goinginto your property again maybe, at 8 mins, where your wife is standing. this would also protect from a landsliding, as it rains so much more now, trees must be deep rooting!

Hi Brady, please be careful with the excavator. Stay at safety distance, the operator clearly knows what he is doing but he's a human, can get tired and a mistake could always happen. It's not a joke, that machine can kill you if it hits you in the head.

If you watch the video you’ll see that the entire terrace surrounding the house was destroyed. The original stone path destroyed, a portion of a stone wall destroyed, the wood fence destroyed. The property looks completely destroyed. Go ahead and suggest a more accurate title. But personally it feels pretty accurate. If it were your home, I’d imagine you’d feel similarly.

Sparking curiosity is part of any content creators job. If I were to title the video “we dug in the dirt” or “the construction site looks like a construction site”, then very few people would be interested in watching. Our job is to find the most engaging title, whilst also being very truthful in the messaging. We have always been extremely truthful in our messaging. The problem is that people don’t know what click bait actually is. Using an “exciting” title does not mean it’s click bait. Click bait is when you lie, and falsely state something that does not happen in the video. People cried “click bait” when we titled a video “knocking down part of our house”, when it reality that is exactly what we did. People cried “click bait” when we titled a video “rock slide” when that is exactly what we experienced. People proclaimed “clickbait” when we titled a video “uncovering a hidden staircase” when that is literally exactly what we did. I can give a dozen more examples. Just because the title is not boring or matter of fact, does not make it clickbait. As a viewer of KZbin myself, I will never post a false title, as I know how that feels when you are baited into watching something under false pretenses only to discover the creator lied to you. But that doesn’t mean we have to use bland titles.

@@RaisingVoyagers Shame you have deleted Tino’s comment here. He was polite and factual. I would be interested in your reply re the use of the English language. “We’ve destroyed the property” really does mean to any native English speaker that you have destroyed the house. But you did not…
