Climbing Mayar & Driesh via the Stunning Corrie Fee

There used to be a basic little campsite at Glen Doll. When I was young (early 90s) we used to camp there and it was my first time being in mountains. Special place for me.

Mayar and Driesh was my number 1 & 2. I really enjoyed it. Corrie Fee is stunning... The part I underestimated was the Kilbo Path and the walk back to the car. It seemed never ending and wasn't as straightforward as I though it was going to be.

1960 found me climbing Driesh for the first time from Corrie Fee my garb for the assent being wellies and a borrowed school blazer. It was the start of my life long love of the hills, thankfully better clad. 😅

Another good watch. I have been up Driesh several times but oddly I've never been in Coire Fee. A much more interesting hill than you rate it just going out and back from Mayar.

What do you use for picking what Munro’s will have best weather take it your just leave the decision till the night before or even morning of then?

I mainly use MetOffice, found it pretty accurate so far! Yes I usually have a couple of options, North/West/East then pick the one with the best weather 😁 There will no doubt come a point where I don’t have pick of the bunch though 😂
